Jon- you did Dingwall a huge service by explaining all the benefits and features of a Dingwall. So many folks are just stuck on the multiscale, and the funky looking frets. Glad you were open minded. Ive been playing Dingwals since 2000, and haven't looked back, and sold of my parallel fret basses, because the B & E string just sound so much clearer. Awesome review.
Very thorough demonstration. I would add that although the pickups look like soap bars, each one has two split coils staggered like a P pickup but in reverse, with the treble coil closer to the neck and the bass coil closer to the bridge.
I can't think of a better analogy for the benefits of scale length differences in the lower strings than having a grand piano on set too! Perfect! Love the review Jonathan! @dingwallguitars 👍
I love my JT it os my first Dingwall Never played a fan fret before I bought it. I love & switch back n forth to trad. FSO basses without problems. The JT is great
The best thing about pick-up blend control is that you can fine tune the sound you want. Rather than just pick-up on, pick-up off. It's also a shame that the middle pick-up is not able to be used on its own.
Really? If the build quality and materials are second to none, you'd still only want to give the expert team a pittance. The Neve pre-amp is worth a few hundred on its own.

These are over $3000. For made in China. It's hard to even care about the bass itself because the economic problems that this signifies are so concerning.
i wonder how this would Age being a Chinese made instrument , looks good an All , but that 2k price Point on a Chinese made Instrument Is a No go personally

Excellent review ! Agree with you
Sounds like good usable tones.

2k+ for a Chinese made bass is really a no go. Regardless of how good they are…

....he snarkily typed on his thousand dollar Chinese phone
It’s made in China but set up in Canada and my DRoc5 came to me set up better than some of my >5k gear.

It has top quality materials, hardware and electronics, built to a high standard. But because Chinese hands, you wouldn't buy it. Okay.

2k Made in china ??!?? If it were
Made in USA then it would be what ? 8k ?
Dingwall is a Canadian manufacturer, but a similarly spec'd model made in their Canadian shop would be about $4200.
