Rod trust me I listen to every forecast unless the power goes out. My daughter and I truly appreciate your updates. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for keeping us updated. We appreciate you more than you know. Thank your family from us for allowing you to keep us all updated.
Thank you Rod I appreciate your forecasts and updates here in Lakeshore fyi, I had TWC on while listening to you today and Mike Bettes and Alex ? are keying in on the Bomb Cyclone not once but after every other commercial break! Thanks for posting all of the weather models on your app and I try my best to watch them all!
I appreciate your weather reports. You are able to go much more in depth with your reports on your RUclips channel than on KGW. I look forward to your videos.
We had a light dusting of snow east of the 205 ~700ft alt but it wasn't very long-lived last night. You don't have to thank us Rod, Thank YOU for all the hard work!!! Seems like we avoided anything major on this one.
Thank goodness! Been having a little stress since there's a tree by my bedroom window. So glad not high winds in the Willamette Valley area. Southwest of Salem. At least I hope not. As we are very close to the Cascade mountains. 😕
Rod I saw that the pressure was 938 this afternoon. How does this to compare to our other major low pressures and in particular the Columbus Day storm?
I feel so smart, quoting you when people are all like, "Stock up on TP, the world's going to end." 😄 Specifically, "bomb" means the storm develops rapidly, not that it's necessarily going to do bomb-like damage. Bomb is such a volatile word.
Thanks Rod. Have you heard any longer range predictions for December yet? Has the climate prediction center put out an outlook for Dec? A snow storm would be nice, but that may be fantasy. Or maybe not, who knows. In any event I at least hope it will be colder and wetter than normal, definitely do not want a repeat of last December.
Oh my gosh. This is just all hype. There is no "bomb" or "cyclone'. Be ashamed. Sure, it's good weather for this area. Sure, we may lose power. No 'bomb'. No 'cyclone' on land. I'm glad you are so intellectually intreiged. Ugh. It's just hype. The west coast weather has always been rough. UGH. This was never called a 'bomb cyclone" in my childhood for northwest weather. I hope you didn't coin this weird - very weird term. UGH>
I grew up knowing it called the banana express. And I agree, this is normal weather for this time of year, wind and all. What makes it dangerous is their weather manipulation/modification.
Cathy, simply I assume you watched my forecast video in which I explained the terminology and gave what turned out to be a non-hyped correct forecast. If you did not watch, please do so. Thank you.

Thank you for your hard work Rod!!
Dearest Rod, Thank you for the forecast. We all truly appreciate it a lot. Thank you, and take care, and have a wonderful evening.

Will there be an “eye” with this deep low? Thanks for the great report…

Perfect timing! Stormy stuff just getting going out here near Cougar, WA.
You folks in Cougar are a hearty bunch living in a beautiful region!
Salem went from light winds to gusts to 38
Stay safe! We are Southwest of you.
Heaviest precipitation in the Northern California coast I think you meant.

That’s why I’m curious about the marketing strategy of “La Bomba” socks. I hope they don’t blow anyone’s foot off.
Can you explain again why NOAA and all never forecast the Gorge east wind? Thank you for keeping us east of 205 advised!
Well, not sure and it is never my place to judge other forecasts.
Gorge east winds a goven. Same as he said about 60mph level trigger a warning

Will start looking at in the coming days.
I'm in Florence right near the water and so far the storm isn't that bad.
Thank you for the report!
Bomb cyclone blew a neighbors roof onto my roof here in Brookings OR a few years ago. They can be deadly, so use caution.🙁
Thank you for the report from past experience.
Nailed it again.
Not much rain here yet just outside Astoria. Gusty winds but no power problems yet either.
Thank you
2 mph in Willamina
If you don't pick up and east wind, you might not bust 30 mph from the south tonight.
@rodhillweather East Wind @ 14 mph
Oh at 445p we're gusting at 40mph in Parkrose.
No wind in Tacoma yet 4.34pm
Thank you
Looks like a tail of valley snow. Its the cotton balls makes me think so. White outs.
The storm will weaken and then return 😢
was the storm of 1962 a 'bomb cyclone?🤔
...hurricane, cyclone, tornado..a whirlwind by any other name...🙏
I was here.
Or rain yet
typhoon say typhoon its your job dork
cape horn, wind explosion area? This is capitalization at it's greatest. OMG. NO. STOP. This is how we've lived for many years without your hype.

Ignorant comment. My house suffered big damage from a bomb cyclone a few years ago. Educate yourself.
