I just came across your channel. Very nice. I have ridden motorcycles for over 40 years, but Vespas are new to me. I’ve always twisted my own wrenches and I currently have a 1977 BMW airhead. Can you point me in the right direction as to a preferred year and model two-stroke manual Vespa to look at if I were to buy one? I couldn’t afford a restored one, but if I could find at least a running one and learn it mechanically to work on it, I think that would be ideal. It seems maybe the PX series would be one to possibly look at. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, and any advice as to where to look for one would be great. I live in Southern California, and I’ve been scouring craigslist, but it appears that anything halfway decent gets snatched up very quickly. Thank you so much in advance for any help you could give me. Subscribed. Joe

I would start with a more common model so parts are easy to get. A P-series is a great place to start or maybe a SprintV if you want something more vintage. Finding a bike is very hard by classifieds these days because people get notifications the moment an ad gets posted. These I find them networking. Just talking to people who I know work on bikes like me. Good luck and I hope you have fun

My VB1 has a Vbb 150 motor. It was only a body and frame. This was the only way to bring it back to life. No one says why you chopped a 32 Ford or a 81 Harley. Touch a Vespa and Hot Rod it in The US and your going to Hell. Germans chop, turbo, and go crazy with this stuff.
In stock form no one drives them 45 mph. Hot Rod it and it will go 65 mph.
Looking forward to the build. Not everything can be saved to original. By being born again saves them from being lost to history.

I agree. It made me sad to cut the frame. But it is what my friend wants. I am glad you see the beauty in these older Vespas like me
