After a successful three-part School series, GFRIEND has become a star rookie on the charts. A year and six months since then, the girls are ready to return with their first full-length album, [LOL].

デビュー1年6ヶ月ぶりに1stフルアルバム『LOL』を発表してカムバックする。
アルバムのタイトル名『LOL』は、‘Laughing out loud(大きく笑う)’と‘Lots of Love(愛をたっぷり送る)’という二つの意味を込めており、これまでGFRIENDが追求してきたGFRIEND特有のキャラクターをより一層確実に見せてくれるアルバムである。
학교 3부작의 성공적인 활동을 통해 음원강자로 자리매김한 여자친구가 데뷔 1년 6개월 만에 첫 번째 정규앨범 [LOL]을 발표하며 컴백한다.
앨범 타이틀 LOL은 ‘Laughing out loud(크게 웃다)’와 ‘Lots of Love(사랑을 듬뿍 보내다)’ 두 가지 의미를 담고 있으며 그 동안 여자친구가 추구해온 여자친구 특유의 캐릭터를 더욱 확실히 보여 주는 앨범이다.

~ Having innocent/bright songs doesn't mean easy choreo
~ coming from small company doesn't mean u cant be a top gg
~ Not all ggs require a rapper, not all songs requires a rap
~ it is possible to have a bop song without a single English word in it!
"Not all ggs require a rapper", but gfriend has a main rapper (Sowon). Btw Yuju and Umji can also rap.

What makes me love GFRIEND is that that they are not a type of a cute girl group. They are not selling a boring and cutesy songs and acting childlish on stage while perfoming. Thanks to these powerful choreographies and quick tempo songs GFRIEND are not boring and you doesnt have enough to listen and watch them. Even tho that they are not popular becouse of their visuals(personally I found them very pretty but oh) they are still on top in South Korea while most of us now how its hard to gain attention from Koreans these days. I'm very proud of GFRIEND that they could achieve so many awards and recognation coming from so unknown company. :)

for those of you that don't know, in gfriend's storyline this takes place after the school trilogy (glass bead, me gustas tu, rough) where they have graduated high school and are now competing as their own team in college rollerskating tournaments (hence why they have won trophies for their rollerskating in this music video)

I don't know if you guys noticed but their title songs never contained any English. And I oddly really like that. They're like the only group that doesn't use English.
Sowon mentioned this in some interview or show that they try to avoid using English as much as possible. She said something along the line with them being special and even more meaningful without using English. That's why their songs are really popular among Koreans.

They're really an impressive group. Hm, actually their company is impressive. The management for these girls is no joke. They were so well trained, the group itself was so well planned from the start! They have something that almost no group in k-pop has, not even SNSD (and I'm not thrashing them, I love them), which is: identity. Groups usually jump from concept to concept or are only cute or only sexy. Gfriend is neither, they have a theme rather than a concept. We know who they are. You can see, even tho they don't have a member that stands out in looks (at least for koreans, i, personall, find them pretty, but whatever) which seems to be so important for idols groups, they still managed to be at the top, simply because their songs are so good they're able to deliver it. Even the members who are vocally weak - and you can see - are in pitch and sound really good, not Mamamoo level, but still above the majority of the weaker singers in other groups, at least in stability. Tone alone there's nothing special, but that's what is interesting about these girls. Aside from Yuju, maybe, they're nothing special. They're the product of hard work and determination and it's so inspirational.
Preach and yeah their company is small but can turn a group into u know like famous girl group. Pretty daebak hahaha

GFRIEND have "IDENTITY" like when they said gfriend everyone know and imagine their complicated choreo and AMAZING SONGS. .they have their Own sound and its so amazing that they just came from a very small company.. BUT THEIR COMPANY was able to train them well and give them the best promotion,songs and choreo that only gfriend can do smoothly.... and YOU HEAR THEIR MR REMOVED.. WELL THEIR JUST SO AMAZING with or without MR..
