The main reason why Winner has such a unique sound is because they write and compose their own music. Maybe that's also one of the reasons why it took so long for them to come back. For this album, Taehyun wrote and composed Baby Baby, Sentimental and I'm Young. Seungyoon made Immature and Mino produced Pricked. Their music speaks volumes on how immensely talented the group is. For only being in the business for a relatively short period of time, their songs don't reflect that at all. How many Kpop groups out there can really say that their songs are truly their own? I think that's what makes them so so special. :)

+coychick This is very true! And honestly I think another thing that helps them have such a unique sound is simply the fact that they're with YG, you know? Because YG is one of the big two companies, there's more room for expansion in terms of idols coming out with songs that stray from the typical kpop sound. From what I understand is sometimes with smaller companies, even if the idols write/compose/produce the songs themselves, there are still guidelines they have to follow to make it more of a midstream-sounding song. And while I understand why that happens, it also saddens me because who knows what other unique sound is out there? But because YG has such veterans, I think he allows his idols to have more free range...haha I hope that makes sense! Gosh I can babble a lot once I get started XP anyway, thanks for sharing your opinion and taking the time to watch our video~! ^_^
