My band director showed me this video when I first ran for DM, and it has eternally been some of the coolest conducting I’ve ever seen.
I always reference this video as prime examples of amazing drum major skill.
I thought this was for DCI so imagine my surprise.
Where did he learn to conduct??? What wizard can I venture to to learn such powers????

Excellent! To see young people learn early their talents and to put them to use is a wonderful thing. We see so many wayward children and teens and those in their 20's who are lost and think they have no purpose. I will pray for young people to have a mentor or find their talent or hobby. One never knows what can become of it. Believe me, I know. Happy for all who succeed.

2nd place was awarded to Drum Major Ron Post of Orange Glenn High School and 1st place went to Debbie Horrilleno of Mayfair High School (I recorded both those performances too). All three (Debbie, Ron and Kevin) put on great performances.

Mary Oseguera he’s putting himself in the music but still keeping a visual pattern completely throughout the song. To be a great conductor your have to have the music in you. I was a JR high guest conductor myself and miss it dearly
