  • This video talks about basics and important concepts of retinoscopy in detail. Retinoscopy is an objective method of refraction. It is performed for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of refractive error. By studying the behaviour of the reflex in terms of its brightness, width and speed, the examiner can identify the refractive error and quantify it.
    The video also talks in detail about the far point, conjugate focus, working distance, working lens, in retinoscopy.

    How accurate is the subjective method, relative to the objective (Retinoscope) method.
    Have there been any studie of this issue?

    Please ma'am, while doing retinoscopy, does the examiner close one of his eyes or is both eyes open. Am having trouble seeing the reflex in the pupil. Thank you.

    U said a wrong point that in priestley smith retinoscope the concave mirror will cause a focussed convergent beam of light. Thats absolutely wrong. Concave mirros cause divergent l8ght beam which is why they are used in correction of myopia. Dont make such gross mistakes while explaining

    • @InsightOphthalmology
      @InsightOphthalmology  2 месяца назад +4

      I think you are mistaking concave mirror for concave lenses.
      Concave mirrors are converging and concave lenses are diverging.

    • @shwetaagarwal2539

      Yes concave mirrors are converging mirrors

    • @shreyasinath2083
      @shreyasinath2083 23 дня назад

      Look at the way you are talking, not only you are wrong ( concave mirror are converging even 10th graders know that) you are being disrespectful as well.
