I love the 91' Mj his footwork was liken unto a Cat hence the reason they called him the Black cat. Just look how he moves with the ball. It looks just like how a Cat runs weather domestic or Wildlife Cat. Mj = 🐐

This was the series I think he was the absolute most fired up for after losing three straight years before this to the Pistons. He and the bulls were in rage mode.

Pistons crumbled quickly after three straight NBA Finals appearances, even with mostly the same personnel that had netted them two titles. Rodman was young and his best days were ahead of him (with other teams), but most of the Pistons' other guys had already peaked and were on steep downward slopes of their careers. Not only would they never menace the mighty Bulls again, but they would start struggling to enter the playoff picture altogether within a year or two. The end sometimes comes more quickly than one thinks.
They said in the bad boys espn doc that by '91 the bulls were so obsessed with winning they knew by the end of game 1 they were just playing a younger hungrier team at that point

Obviously Isiah’s injuries made them a less dominant team in ‘91 but I think the Media Mythology Machine portrays the ‘91 Bad Boys as less great than they were.
@@margarinetaintedgreen8140 That pistons teams reminds me of the Lakers in 2011 going for that third straight title. Team was still intact from the previous two championships, were relatively healthy, and had a good regular season, but just crumbled against Dallas
@@margarinetaintedgreen8140 The Pistons' slide would be even more precipitous starting in '92. I think that even if the '91 Bulls did not exist and the Pistons made it to the Finals that year, they might not have beaten the Lakers.
@@270yis7 Perhaps. Magic would have had his way if Rodman was off guarding Worthy. I probably would have put Isiah on Scott and Dumars on Magic, but Magic would still be able to take Dumars to school in the post. Vlade would maybe have a tougher time against Laimbeer/Salley/Edwards than he did against Cartwright/Grant/Levingston/Purdue.
Probably too much for DET with Magic/Perkins/Worthy/Green/Vlade. Maybe Scott wouldn’t have disappeared the way he did if he didn’t have to go against MJ…?

They weren't being denied in '91 by the Pistons
Chicago had a 117-76 foul shooting attempt advantage over Detroit from games 1-3...so even if both teams shot 100% from the line, no way the Pistons could have won the first 3 games -- way to go NBA!... Remember, Detroit handed Chicago this series on purpose but Mike thinks he won because of hard work and perseverance -- no, the Pistons let him win.
When you "hand" someone something that you couldn't stop them from taking anyway, it's still their's.
@@samburtonthe1 So who's was it from 1988-90? .... See, this is why you have to look into things concerning what you are seeing in professional sports, like injuries. Why do injuries dictate who wins? Why is it always the 'star' player that goes down with a key injury to make sure that contending team has a less(er) chance of winning vs. that other healthy team?...Just go back in NBA history and look and you ask yourself, why? .... Then ask yourself why do these guys get paid so much?....Then ask yourself: Are they as injured as reported? I mean I'm sure you've had an injury or twisted an ankle and it wasn't as bad as it looked but you knew how you felt whether or not you could move and as you moved you felt better....So these are the most well conditioned athletes and they move and all of a sudden, out 3-6 months, 2-4 weeks, etc... Come on? Now in this year, who was injured for Detroit?...Earlier you saw Barkley had knee problems vs. Philly....Worthy was out for the Lakers...HAHAHA! It's done in a subtle way, it's not obvious...all you have to do is get out of the way and the team you want to win shall win. Isiah in '88, Magic in '89, Walton in '87 although McHale and Parish both had ankle problems and played through it.
@@plainsimple244 Good thing the random player I picked just happened to be the one to hardly ever miss a game even with physical issues (even food poisoning) and just happened to accidentally sink enough baskets to have the highest scoring average ever and also countless other statistics and 3-peat twice with championships. @@samburtonthe1 Yeah, that's another good thing about Jordan, he got hurt early in his career and came back from it -- now that was devastating given how his game was...so good for him in never getting a major injury.... I mean Thomas with a shooting wrist, ouch....Here's the thing about the food poisoning... I mean do we really know if he was poisoned with the food?...If they lie about the flu, they can lie about food poisoning, right?...I've never heard of a guy that sick and that drained to the point where after the game, he gives an interview with Ahmad Rashad....Seems to me I'd want that toilet and bathroom more than just sitting there talking.... Yeah, Jordan was great in every sense of basketball greatness 100%, I have nothing bad to say about Jordan playing basketball.... My only issue was how the NBA and media tried to get the public to 'worship' Jordan and he got all the calls as well as the NBA systematically eliminated his competition with the Pistons really having to not win in '91 and then break up their title-contending team -- that's what got me...I mean remember, the only team that could beat Jordan was Detroit, so it's not like Jordan overcame the Pistons, the Pistons were injured then broke up that team....Kinda easy to beat an injured team and afterwards they break up that team so now it's easy for you to win and keep winning...then James Worthy, Jordan's UNC teammate ironically winds up with an ankle injury so he cannot dominate that series....remember game 1 of the Finals in '91? Magic was one-on-one and threw it to Perkins, Jordan's UNC teammate, funny thing is Perkins made the shot...see, Magic was supposed to take the shot but he passed it for a lower percentage shot on purpose, the thing is Perkins hit it and if you look at Jordan's shot, it went in-and-out...so I guess the 'powers that be' said if Perkins hits that shot, they win.... See now who is Jordan's competition? His friends: Ewing/Oakley, Barkley, and who else? A terrible Cavs team he dominated and a choke Portland team?
Now I did love those Bulls' teams in the 2nd 3-peat because they had Rodman and I hated the way that younger generation played basketball so I was glad Jordan came back and had Rodman and then the Bulls picked up Salley/Edwards and showed the world how great it is when the Pistons/Bulls come together and dominate the league...but remember, Detroit's shat was Chicago's treasure because Rodman, Salley, and Edwards were on the downside of their careers and those were guys coming off the bench for the 1989 Detroit Pistons, 1/3 of 'The Bad Boys' made up the greatest Chicago Bulls' team of all-time the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls...this is why Jordan needed Rodman from 1995-96 to 1997-98 -- you gut that team earlier like without Grant and Cartwright what happened in 1994-95? They lost in the 2nd round to Orlando; just like Detroit went from going to the ECF in '91 with Edwards/Vinnie Johnson to not having them in 1991-92 losing in the 1st round to the Knicks -- the core of a team can cost you two rounds; it did for the Bulls in '94 without Jordan (went from the title in '93 to losing in the 2nd round in '94) and again in '94-'95 losing in the 2nd round to then having Rodman, Salley, and Edwards to face the likes of Alonzo Mourning, Ewing, and Shaq with possibly Hakeem but faced Kemp in the Finals ...so they win with a solid front court.
When Detroit broke up that team in 1990-91 in the summer of '91, it was over, no way they could compete and thus the 90's was the Michael Jordan tap-dance Era where you want to see Sammy Davis, Jr. perform, that's what it's like watching Jordan play basketball, it was all about watching the guy play instead of actual basketball competition. HAHAHA! It's like watching Steph Curry shoot all day without a hand in his face.
@@plainsimple244 That wasn't plain and simple at all, guy! You may just have put a little too much analysis into this. There's no way to really verify the whole conspiracy thing, not saying it's not an issue, but we can't do much about all that. We just have to enjoy the game and try not to let all the politics and shit ruin it for us.
