That was one of those high dollar ratchets that change from a breaker bar to ratchet depending on the shot.....starts as a ratchet at 11:57.....12:04 is a breaker bar with ratchet sounds lol
Great video guys I love me a square body! I can’t count how many I’ve owned through years but I love the direction the truck is going, will be watching for next episode 👍🏻
on every bolt they sprayed Deep Creep on, none of the threads showed that it actually creeped under the nut or up the threads. it only made the exposed threads wet
Great video but I would say if going to suggest deep creep make sure it "creeps" lol. Right before this a nut was removed that was sprayed but the threads had no oil under the nut. Just say remove the nut the spray oil and put it back on to make it look like its working haha.
It should've been clarified that there's a 4L60 and a 4L60E transmission, and that the controller only works on the E version. The 4L60 is basically an improved 700R4 with hydro shifting controls, while the E is all done electronically. There are only E versions of the other GM transmissions mentioned.
It was easier to add EFI and have that aftermarket system control the 4L80, price of external controller and needed TPS is not cheap compared to a single PCM controlling everything, fans, fuel etc.
TCI shafted me on th350 trans. When I told them my problem the guy said it was my stall convertor showing shavings in the pan. So I took it apart and found the sprags broke and few other parts bad. Manual valve had chip in it fluid bleed off in the pan. When contacted TCI again and sent the pictures. They said 30 day warranty on race transmission. They would not do anything about it or offer to repair it. The guy was not so nice over the phone. Trans was bought 8/2020 install 10/2020, 2nd gear went out 3/2021. Only 160 miles light street driving. I hope you don't go through what happen to me.
I would have pop-riveted those cab corner patch panels on. People turn their nose up at pop rivets, imagining that welding is the "correct" way to do it, yet, ironically, it's superior to butt-welding in cases like this, because now you have a bare weld on the inside that you can't paint due to lack of access, and a bare weld rusts like it's its job. I wish I had a dollar for every few-years-old butt-welded patch job I've seen that had rust coming through precisely along the weld. On the other hand, I know for a fact that pop-riveted patches can last for decades without rust problems, at least not any that are caused by the method of attaching the patch.
im guessing because they think youd be using a lot more bondo to cover a rivet vs a smooth weld . a buddy of mine had this tool that would bend the metal in that area to lay the patch panel over lapping the seams . he used a body glue to bond them together . after bondo and paint you couldnt tell by looking at the truck . he did it to show me you dont have to be a welder / fabricator to do some rust repair your self ........ at least on cab corners .
@@867diesel "im guessing because they think youd be using a lot more bondo to cover a rivet vs a smooth weld" They make countersunk pop rivets, as well as drill bits for use with them that drill the hole and then countersink it so you don't have to use two different bits. Countersunk pop rivets don't require any more Bondo to cover them than a ground down weld does.

Well. I think he's still doing it as we haven't seen a finished product. Which I guarantee will be a better build given the reputation these guys have.

Can you guys do yet another 4x4? I mean really, I don't think you guys have done enough of them................. Rolling my eyes...... How about doing a damn street truck? Not everyone is into 4x4's, In fact not alot of people are, how about building a an affordable, daily driver classic street truck, I'll even go so far to say I wouldn't even care if it was a Ford, but if you do a Ford do a 7th Gen (80-86) bullnose F-Series truck, just to show everyone that even the ugliest truck can be a cool street truck, because even as Bowtie Guy I've seen enough Squarebodies and OBS trucks. Be different, do a bullnose or a 3rd gen Dodge D-series truck and make it a 2wd street truck.
If I was you l will go with long bed step side it worth a lot of money and some things different and they sold in Saudi 1979 with 100 KM for $200000 Thousand dollars all original and its long bed step side with all original paper and the original sticks and the seat original factory paper covers
Now let's see if they actually paint it or are they just going to be lazy like usual? After seeing the rust repair and that massive paint run I think it would be better for them if they don't let Shaggy do the painting.
You mean the paint drip inside of the corner that will never been seen? These guys are far from lazy and do great work. Does not take much energy to be a keyboard warrior like yourself though.

Way to ruin a square body by going drivers side front diff 👎they were pass side diff. Also to much stall on the converter not needed at all just going to add unwanted heat to transmission and waste low end torque. Lastly big power big axels and half ton frame how's that going to end not well. The fall guy truck was a 3/4 ton with a small block and 36's and did fine for what it was. You have taken a good square body and ruined it again as usual.

Oh brother!
ya serve no use did not get in tread at a ll lol just a waste honestly
Watch project farm you tube channel on penetrant tests. Nothing works very well except for heat.
😂😂😂
That truck was very clean. I don't think it really needed any penetrating fluid. I second the project farm testing results.
Those threads, where the nut was, were dry as f after he removed that nut by hand lol.
I think that stall on that converter is a bit high for a pickup! 2400-2800 would of been better.
1500 would have been fine, the bbc torque should have no problem getting things rolling that low!
3K stall seems awful high for a 4x4 big block truck. I went with a converter from a 6.5 Detroit/T400 setup that has a stall closer to 1500 RPM
I was thinking the same. Around 1800 would be perfect

Would you do the paint prep/sanding with the front clip in or off? I’d have no where to put it unless I buy one of those racks you have.

you need a transmission
Why not put bed liner on the cap Corners they would never rest again
I don that your pumpkin is on the wrong side of the truck
you would think after all these years chevy/GMC would fix the problem with the bottom corners of the cabs rotting out
It's not just GM. Cab corners and wheel wells are rust prone. Sound deadening material eventually gets moisture on it and the rest is elementary.
why does topolinsky look so angry when he's doing they dyno test?

A '57 Chevy with a Coyote FORD engine.
Lost my interest at carburetor! Id went fuel injection!
