    I’m not sure anyone features more diverse and varying filming locations than this channel. Certainly none in the health and fitness category.
    Mountain ranges, farmlands, barns, rooftops and today’s segment featuring an industrial lot with what looks like a coffin and a truckers mud flap in the background lol. Keep it up. 😊

      I think it is a coffin being used as a toolbox mounted on the truck.
      I'm morbid so I actually found humor in this idea

    I am going to have to pony up for two adjustable bells… micro adjustments is a gain changer and better bridges between my decades of barbell/dumbbell training process. I really like incremental increases for both a functional and motivational benefit. Props to Mark for taking adjustable bells to the next level. 👍

      Like to ask....Do you see these kb exercises as a replacement or an addition/complement to the barbell work?

    • @gwiz7746
      @gwiz7746 8 месяцев назад

      For me, bell work compliments dumbbell/barbell training. Arcs and planes of motion and ballistic elements work the muscles in a different way. The whole notion of endurance strength training and ‘time under tension’ is different as well. I don’t think one tool has to necessarily exclude the other and can be evolved in to larger meso or micro cycles to avoid overtraining trying to do it all at once.

      @@gwiz7746 nice, thanks for that, I enjoy the kb and cbs, they've got me into a good space, and will always work them ballistically, I found, using them, I really like the dead-clean type movements and reckon at some point I'd like to look at barbell for pure strength, so I guess I approached this less traditionally ! , for example Dan John seems to have introduced the kb ballistics / mobility after a career with strength training on barbell with oly lifts etc [ that's simplified bigtime, but fact is he only introduced kb 2003-ish and values them ]
      So from that perspective [ John's unless I'm wrong ] these bell-tools can function as a longevity option, scaling back on higher weight, when appropriate, but maintaining a level generally [ that's my impression of his sharing ]
      There's got to be an ideal in here, strength + strength-endurance + factor-age
      All good, lots to consider, cheers :)

      I just got my second adjustable bell about 2 months ago. It's been great. I still do single bell work but having 2 is excellent for heavier squats.

    for the dead version why not drive directly up to the clean from the floor?

    • @MarkWildman
      @MarkWildman  8 месяцев назад +1

      You certainly can. The hang version is there in kettlebell training the same reason is there an Olympic training. Change of position changes how people produce power.

    Great move, the dead-cleans are such a different feel.
    What does one think about the value in having a kettlebell equivalent of a barbell clean ( dropping under the bell into the squat ) in addition to this demo'ed hang-clean ( equivalent to the barbell power-clean)....
    Maybe to maximise upper-body endurance in some met-con / tut format?

      @MarkWildman your kb dead-clean met-con works really well for me, as a finisher, after BOS levels with similar dead-clean moves ( think that's part of it, that I've already done the movement in the previous workout, but with a different tool ) , that's what got me reflecting on them, the dead-snatch is great fun ! , cheers for all the instruction-inspiration.

      @@cioran1754 For me, I like to go to the park. Some days, I'll take a kettlebell and do things like halos, around the worlds, RDLs, squats, swings, windmills, lateral lunges, stir the pots, and any basic movements. Some days, I'll take a club and do the basic lateral plane movements. I also like to take gym rings and giant rubber band like resistance bands to the park on some days and do pullups, pushups, dips, inverted rows, assisted pistol squats, assisted lateral squats, pallof presses, overhead presses, and general mobility stuff.

      Work on lateral club swinging. Point your feet straight ahead, and your ankle mobility will. I know from experience and three knee surgeries, and not walking for six months.

  • @AKlover
    @AKlover 8 месяцев назад

    I'd be spending too much time on the hang clean with weight too light to make the squat meaningful. I can do double KB squats for sets with 2X 50s, I'd literally have to cut that weight in half for the hang clean.

    • @gwiz7746

      I think the kind of kettlebell has to be considered. On smooth handle completion bells chalk is less useful, but on cast iron hard style bells chalk works its way in to the porous texture of a cast iron handle. I use chalk on cast iron with no tearing ever.

    • @ralphnevill6171
      @ralphnevill6171 8 месяцев назад

      My hands get sweaty AF so lots of chalk is a must for me! It all comes down to properly using a hook grip to let the handle slide while swinging the bell and closing at the back of the backswing and fixating at the top of the clean/press/snatch. Can't say that my grip is really tight at any other time. No rips or tears in my hands and use fine drywall sanding screens to file down my calluses.
      I'm using BoS adjustable bells and I sand the handles smooth regularly with fine sand paper as I keep them in the back of my car and they get micro rust spots from the winter humidity :P

    • @MarkWildman

      Competition guys tend to use a lot of chalk, and are very specific about how they chalk their hands in the bell, I prefer to train without chalking, without belts, and without shoes
