The first truly great overall Eurovision for me with so many classic songs and performances that I still listen to today. Iceland. Azerbaijan. Malta. Germany. Turkey. Norway. Ukraine. Romania. UK. This is one year I rewatch and can still enjoy.
This was the best year in eurovision history. The production aka The stage and sound were incredible, lots of money put into i guess. Well done russia!
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Estonia, Turkey and the UK were the best. Secretely i loved Dita Von Teese's little appearence aswell... :p But my absolute favourite that year was Turkey

This contest had a lot of good songs, Norway was fantasic, but Iceland was my favorite. My top 10: 1- Iceland (Beautiful voice, Beautiful song, It's just wonderful) 2- Norway (I'm amazed by the song and deserved the win) 3- Azerbaijan (I could feel myself dancing to it) 4- Turkey (Catchy, great rythm, it's a good song) 5- Malta (Beautiful voice) 6- Romania (I really like it how the girls sang in synch) 7- Albania (I felt like this song took me to a fantasy world) 8- Spain (It's underrated. It's a great powerful song) 9- Bosnia & Herzegovina (While I dunno what he said, I love how it sounded) 10- Portugal (I found the song cute) HM: Finland (While not my favorite, I think it's a catchy song)
The top 4 of this contest (Norway, Iceland, Azerbaijan and Turkey) all deserved to win, and would've won if they competed with the same entry in a different year.
Norway 12 points since were apparently awarding points hands down the best Eurovision Song Contest entry, the music, lyrics, the bloody violin, the dancers, the backing singers and then there's the man himself Alexander rybak what more could you want.
One of the best years ever! I loved Lithuania, France, Sweden, Croatia, Portugal, Armenia, Russia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Moldova, Estonia, Germany, Albania, Norway, and Ukraine. And those are only the songs that made the final and got an 8/10 or more from me.
I just want to point out that the running order was near perfect and it was all based on whatever the artist drew. I even miss this. It was more fair and since then it's so obvious the draw is structred it feels too monotone sometimes.
I fucking love this esc year! best of all! 2008 was great but this epic. Norway, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iceland, Greece, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia, Ukraine, Armenia, Spain, Germany, So difficult to put these in ranking order! Norway was overpowered shame to other songs. Belgium, Czech and Macedonia were terrible but rest are atleast ok or good songs! Russia did also very good job with hosting :)

This was definitely the best competition of the 00s and better than any of the 10s too, none of the songs seemed to be jokes and I loved: Iceland, Greece, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Malta (This is who I voted for, so beautiful), Denmark (who my mum voted for), Turkey, Romania (I love Elena!), United Kingdom (Love Jade, best entry for them in a very long time!) and ofcourse Norway the winner, although I think the song is overrated, it is good!
What a strong year, so full of masterpieces! Estonia was the very best in my opinion :) I wish Serbia had reached the final as well, their song was epic. Watching this recap is a good reminder of how well deserved our (Finland's) last place was that year, though :D

The first one I watched and I didn't realise it was a competition until a few years later. This was definitely the best one and 2015 was up there too.

2009 year got so many outstanding songs, like Rybak's, Yohanna's, and Arash's. Also many more.
My family have always watched Eurovision every year, but this was the first one that I really took note of. In my opinion, it is the best so far.

It's still a good upbeat song. There was barely, almost non-existent bad songs that year in the final.
