    If any 2-3k sea support players watching these videos lemme know. It feels good to see atleast a few support players know a few things. I don't need a good support to win, as I learnt to do everything on my own as I started to rank up. Feelgood factor will be there!

    Talking about supports mistakes... pulled up a clip where spectre is supporting void... I think pulling small creep was the smallest mistake this "support" made XD

    depending on hard support you can't always engage in 1 v 1 with enemy pos 4, depending on attack range and enemy skills. I will never feed the lane by engaging a lot as Venge vs dazzle for example, cause he has much longer attack range, a slow and overall will do much more damage. It would only result with me being totally pushed away from lane, eventually dying and create even more disadvantage to my carry.

    and at zoning if pos 4 stronger from you and then you go hit offlane but you get zoned much harder it means lane is doomed and u cant do much right?

  • @kurthu2
    @kurthu2 6 месяцев назад +4

    I think the 3rd mistake is a bit situational and saying you should always 1v1 the pos4 isn't correct. You should think about how your heroes fight the enemy heroes 2v2 and 1v1, and decide which is more favorable for the lane. If the enemy pos 4 is a tiny with brown boots and you're a treant protector, you shouldn't just chase the tiny around and waste your early lane advantage and take that time to 2v1 the offlane, forcing tiny to come to you, as your spells are strong 2v2, not as strong 1v1. I could come up with more examples but I think the blanket statement of always 1v1ing the pos 4 is not always the optimal play

    • @PainDota
      @PainDota  6 месяцев назад

      The context is that IF the enemy pos 4 can bully your carry, in the example you've given, tiny doesn't do anything to the carry so you won't feel like doing anything to him automatically.

    • @kurthu2
      @kurthu2 6 месяцев назад

      @@PainDota Yeah I definitely agree with that context, but it wasn't super clear that you were talking about it and it could be interpreted as always 1v1 the pos 4. Thanks for the videos btw, super helpful!

      @@kurthu2 came to the comments section to say the exact same thing. As a majority pos 4 player who mains Tusk a lot in the current meta, I constantly win games because the enemy pos 5 spends the first 3 levels only harassing me instead of harassing my offlaner. According to Pain's justification that's the correct behaviour because I as a Tusk present threat through Tag Team; however, that needless trading into me is perfect for me because I know our power spike as the offlane duo is typically level three and onwards. If they want to spend all their time focussing on me I love that, I just buy regen to sustain myself and then once we hit our collective power spike we get to roll the lane and snowball my own game super easily because the offlaner is full health and I offset all the damage I've taken with tangoes and salves. The actual correct advice is to hit the offlaner wherever possible and then trade with the pos 4 when they try to initiate it. If you aren't forcing pressure correctly a better player will simply wait out your suboptimal play and then roll you when their power spike arrives. One need only look at players like Miposhka to properly understand this concept. The advice to 1v1 the pos 4 is caveated by the need to present a threat if they don't trade into you. Dota is all about forcing behaviour and then finding ways to punish it.

    In terms of contesting the 6m power rune, how do you rate it's value in terms of giving up the lotus to do so?

    • @PainDota
      @PainDota  6 месяцев назад +4

      100x better, 6 min lotus doesn't change lane at all

    • @imfinishedgrinding638
      @imfinishedgrinding638 6 месяцев назад

      Power runes are more important. Supports, usually the 4, start roaming around the 5:30 minute mark to help secure mid the first power rune. Whichever support goes out to that means that sidelane usually will have to concede obtaining the lotus spawn.

    I actually think in a vacuum your tipp at min 4 is bad advise. The job of pos 5 is to enable your carry to have a good lane. In the best case, you are hitting the pos 3 and avoid being hit by the pos 4 and make sure that the pos 4 cant hit your 1 either. in many cases your 1 doesnt win a 1v1 matchup vs the enemy 3, thus your advise of going into a 1v1 against enemy 4 is often griefing your carry.

    • @PainDota
      @PainDota  6 месяцев назад

      There are so many lane mechanics that any good carry can use to lane 1v1 against a carry, if you as a 5 are pressuring their 3 who is supposedly stronger than your 1, how is that better? Their 4 and 3 will harrass your 1 and since ur 1 is weaker, he doesn't benefit from situation. If he's 1v1, at least he can aggro the creeps backwards and get cs

    Only thing I ask from my support is to block the hard camp as much as possible, block with it with wards or your body and use your spells to harass and annoy them. I don't care if you don't pull(I will), I don't care if you leave me at 5m(I will be fine), I don't care if you don't go for flower, just block the hard camp. I had one support yesterday where I typed "please block the hard camp" his response was "stop complaining and telling me what to do" and left the lane at 3 minutes. The worst part is when you as a carry don't have enough items to be dominating the game they all gang up on you and say its your fault lol.
