That was a fantastic gig. Watched Supercharge, Steve Hillage Band, Kiki Dee and then the magnificent Queen. ( If my memory serves me well). We were quite close to the stage and spent a lot of time dodging empty cans, bottles and banana skins!!! But Queen were superb. A brilliant and never forgotten day.
Steve Gerrard Yes Steve....a fantastic gig. Forever engraved in my memory. I'm going to see Queen again on their upcoming tour with Adam Lambert again this year. But I miss Freddie !!! THE showman ..
I'm not sure about that- maybe I'm a purist🙂 still enjoy the music though. Saw queen extravaganza last year, so close to the original band- shut your eyes and you are transported back. Enjoy your show Sent from my iPad
This was the third time I had seen Queen live. Saw them Southampton in 74 & 75. This was a good concert, I remember waiting all day for them to appear. Yes there were beer cans being thrown about, if I remember Freddie threatened to walk off if it didn’t stop which it did.
las ovejas balan, las luciernagas iluminan, los lobos aullan, lo humedo moja..los mares son rhye, los picnics son by the sepentine, y lloraremos para siempre dear friends, goodbye. GOD BLESS THIS QUEEN
@9tome6 lol I thought that in the back of my mind after I replied :P I'm surprised at how much live and personal footage is on here of Queen and Freddie Mercury. A pleasant surprise of course :)
Really, the Serpentine is where it was? I was there ages later, in 2012, to see the New Queen at Hammersmith. The Serpentine was holding an exhibition of Yoko Ono's work, which was very interesting. I'd always wanted to see these places of legend, and it was amazing, just very VERY different than anything I imagined - like unexpected and, different. Lol, Freddie: "delicate people"?? They're really very strong, I danced with them, so I know. But the Lily of the Valley didn't know. She thought that by "come into my arms to know the truth" was meant something other than dancing. And that, combined with her instinct saying she shouldn't give of her Tree.....
***** The song is about their common ancestor, Ishtar aka Inanna, and the feelings she evoked in a special guy who was her devoted fan... about their struggles. What do you think that fast movement represents? (F's stage act was always religious, but at the same time it was personal, trying to communicate how he was, privately. He repeats that movement at every concert and there's like a "tadaa!" at the end, like a victory or knowledge that he shares).
i was there unbelievable Brighton rock was brilliant
Beautiful singer finally sang: " so sad it ends as it began".
Queen 4 ever! :))
