"Sorry I'm late. Jumped out of a window. Certain death. Don't you want to know how I survived? Go on. Ask me! No, of course I had to jump! The first rule of being interrogated is that you are the only irreplaceable person in the torture chamber. The room is yours, so work it. If they're going to threaten you with death, show them who's boss. Die faster. And you've seen me do that more often than most. Isn't that right, Clara? Rule one of dying, don't. Rule two, slow down." "You've got the rest of your life. The faster you think, the slower it will pass. Concentrate. Assume you're going to survive. Always assume that. Imagine you've already survived. There's a storm room in your mind. Lock the door and think. This is my storm room. I always imagine that I'm back in my Tardis, showing off, telling you how I escaped, making you laugh. That's what I'm doing right now. I am falling, Clara. I'm dying. And I am going to explain to you how I survived." "I can't wait to hear what I say. I'm nothing without an audience." "One hope: Salt." "Thought I smelled it earlier. When I broke the window, I was sure. Salty air. This castle is standing in the sea!" "Diving into water from a great height is no guarantee of survival. I need to know exactly how far I'm going to fall, and how fast." "Why do you think I threw the stool? Fall time to impact: seven seconds." "The wind resistance of the stool, the atmospheric density, the strength of the local gravity. Am I spoiling the magic? I work at this stuff, you know? Should hit the water in about point zero two seconds. The chances of remaining conscious are-"
What a track! Full of absolute brilliance! The use of the classic style music, the intensity of the Veil's theme, and of course the awesome falling sequence!! 5 minutes of amazing pieces put together beautifully! ;)
I can’t tell at 2:39 if the “planet crashing” sound effect is in the score or if I’m imagining in because I’ve seen this episode so many times. Is it just me?
I have the same question too, every time i hear the track i'm not sure if the sound is just in my head or not. Both of us hear the same sound, so probably is on the track jaja
This whole episode is musical poetry.
This whole episode is poetry.
1:13 that classic series vibe 😍
YES!! Finally a comment that perfectly agrees with my view of that 10 second sequence
"Old, very old, possibly very, very old." It's like when Murray Gold just read that part in the script he decided it just needed Howell style synths.

This scene in particular, it shows how the Doctor thinks and it's awesome. He elevated improvisation to a godly level here
Arguably my favorite scene in Doctor Who.
Thanks :D
I'm pretty sure it's 'store room'
@@yolo-sy6zl It's "storm room"
"Old, very old, possibly very very old..."
The synth here is sublime.

I love that little dedication to the 80's era music
0:30 I LOVE THIS PART
I agree it’s so good! I can’t get enough of this part!
@@pixelwarrior6440 right? Every time see a photo a lost loved one in my family I always hear that mix.
The synth sounds right out of a Davison, or any 80's story.
0:29 and 2:41 this was always my favorite part. It speaks to me on a soulful level
2:42 , along with all the parts of this episode's soundtrack that sound like this, are my favorite parts of the episode.
I love the backwards sound effects on the piano theme
1:13 I love this bit.
Because you won't see this coming!
Can we have a whole track of classic synth please?
4:05
Love it

it's not there though...
Ravushika01 I wish we could look at the way the score’s written!
The single best episode of Dr Who, from the last good series.
Series 10 was great, my favourite since Series 4. I can agree that this is the best episode however.
@@hyweljones718 my unpopular opnion is that series 10 is the peak of dr who
The bit at 00:28 sounds incredibly familiar! Can anyone tell me if it is from another song??
maybe "A river of tears" ?
4:05 rick and morty fans bringing up statements only to get an entire dictionaries worth of evidence from doctor who on feats that beat Rick's.
Deathbattle when they have to research the doctor.
zelda twilight princess vibes from the 4th temple
The beginning sounds more like the Temple of Time, which is the sixth dungeon.
