Koreans aren't the most culturally informed/up-to-date/knowledgeable or globalised compared to Japan or even China despite what people seem to think of Korea based on their extensive imports of their media industry or fast wi-fi/internet. The non-Korean cultures/foods that they would be familiar with is just mainly Japanese, American/Western style foods, Northern/North-east Chinese, watered down versions of Italian, Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian.
I give -0 point to whoever was in charged for the music. At least baba nyonya feels the closest to chinese instead of indian vibe in fact none of these are indian-cultured food, i mean like hey its rendang not curry lah😂
I am Malaysian, but confused with the background music though. The Nyonya Laksa is for the Chinese Peranakan or Baba, so it could be great with an oriental far east music. If you are eating banana leaf curry or food from mamak restaurant, than these songs would be suited. But malaysia is multi-cultural anyway, so it's ok too.
I found quite a lot of misinformation/stereotypes from Korean variety shows. It's not that hard to find some info about the country you visited on the internet nowadays 🙄
No offense to the tamilan but baba nyonya are peranakan cuisine which is a pretty much a cross culture between thr Chinese and the Malays. At which point was Tamilan in the equation that the editor need to keep on blasting non related song to the culture shown. Poor research? Insensitive?
