It’s meant to show loneliness and loss, the younger guy and what is implied to be his father had a huge trip planned and it’s heavily implied (the church scene, the watch, standing on the cliff while wearing the same coat in the church, walking to the cliff holding flowers, and the empty chair) that his father died before this trip and he decides to go alone remembering his father throughout the journey. It’s powerful, tragic, and sad yet beautiful. Something you see very little of in music.

It’s meant to show loneliness and loss, the younger guy and what is implied to be his father had a huge trip planned and it’s heavily implied (the church scene, the watch, standing on the cliff while wearing the same coat in the church, walking to the cliff holding flowers, and the empty chair) that his father died before this trip and he decides to go alone remembering his father throughout the journey. It’s powerful, tragic, and sad yet beautiful. Something you see very little of in music.
