Instead of reducing salt, use a mineral salt that also contains potassium. This helps keeping the minerals balanced in the body.

Awesome interview. One thing I find interesting us that we often talk about the health benefits of vegetables and all of the amazing nutritional benefits but we never talk about meat. It's not even an afterthought. RFK is definitely going to make things change because another idea that is not talked about is that we could absolutely make fast food healthy. Bring back tallow for frying and add single ingredient foods to making a burger and still pay only a dollar. This can be done. The first fast food chain to do so will be in a great position.

Salt is one of the oldest preservatives that works by making foods a poor environment for microbes and thus preserving the food, our gut biome is severely negatively impacted by too much salt because it makes the gut a poor environment for the essential micro biome to exist, couple that with too much sugar and then you’ll overgrow the bad bacteria that will in turn negatively impact your health as well, it’s all about balance. There is so much to know about our health so always be skeptical of any information regardless of the source, taking in the information then test and validate it for yourself, it’s truly the only way to know for sure. That method of finding truth applies to more than just health of course.

Frank Shallenberger at Advanced Bionutritionals® has really detailed particular information about the histories of the topic , about the cumulation of technical standard methods , and about their own research done when they developed their products . His approximately 1°h -long documentary ads are great . Also , he says that he has been doing laboratory studies , academic searches and researches , and has been working and both training and teaching about diet and other health habits and facts for over 40(?? years .
The guys in Michigan during the [1930s ; 1950s] created a whole cultural movement around the types of things you and Danica were shown talking about in the video here . Do young researchers responsible for doing studies now still look to older professionals for inspiration and documentary data not generally available now in the published literature ?

I remember reading a few salt theories. With different types of salt being necessary/beneficial for different people. Due to the different characteristics and other minerals that come with them. As @SkepticalCaveman mentioned. Some have the potassium, that certain people wil benefit from.
I know very little about Astrology, but there is some belief, even there that each sign benefits from a different salt. Its probably more individualized than that, I would guess. Usually, when there are numerous ideas from completely unrelated beliefs, tests, ect, there's at least something to the idea.

He's wrong about cholesterol though. If you read the studies done on dietary cholesterol, you'll learn that absorption of cholesterol varies from person to person by about 20% to 80%. That's why I have to keep my cholesterol intake as low as possible, while others can do well eating high cholesterol foods. They poop out the excess, while my blood gets packed with cholesterol.

Can we have your opinion on the negative book review done on your Salt fix book please Dr James. You can find it by searching your book title in redpenreviews website posted 29th June 2022. I don’t agree with the reviewer as I take real salt regularly but I’m interested in why you think they gave the book a 20% on scientific accuracy and 58% on reference accuracy. Love to hear your response please don’t delete this comment again. Thanks.

Yup. Salt, red meat and animal fat are the best foods for a healthy life. Sugar companies know that and try to use propaganda to convince people otherwise. The food pyramid and daily recommended intake come to mind as examples of the propaganda

Diet advice is so conflicting. There are some who speak the evils of salt. One known doctor on YT says salt contributes to stroke risk. IDK. I just turned 70 have eaten the good and the bad and still feel fine overall given the age and am not on any meds. I stay active. I tend to believe that is more important than diet.
