      Thank you Jebb for watching, Thed gas station is the oldest, the tank cars are probably close to 15 years old. Sinclair is preety much a thing of the past so it adds nostalgia to the layout.

      Thank you Jorge. I wanted something different and little classy to operate the accessories. The idea worked out well. That gas station was the first MTH accessory I got and I really like it.

    What was nice about Weaver was that he was not one of these people who just reproduced the exact Road names that Lionel came out with and nothing different. I did not mind plastic trucks and plastic Wheels because then you could use it on to real old scale as well as three rail 0 gauge.

    I like the Sinclair gas station that m-th came out with it was a little high out of my budget and now it's considered collectible which means it's really Sky High. Sinclair dates from the time when gas is cheap, when you had gas wars in the price of gas went down. Every gas station in town gave you a Matchbox car for filling up or a free coffee mug or as in Sinclair's case you got to watch dinosaur and you got to watch it being made into machine I still have one. Back in the old days even 2 stuff they gave you away free was made in America. I love that Bob Weaver made quality toy trains and scale in America at prices that would be made in China from m-th and Lionel. Every year when they had to York train show they would have buses to take you out to take a tour of the Weaver Factory. It is a shame nobody took over Weaver train so they could be continued

      Thanks for watching Frank, I actually have two of those. My friend never used his and I picked it up from him. I agree I really miss Weaver. I dealt directly with Joe Hayter and he was a first class guy.

  • @frankmarkovcijr5459
    @frankmarkovcijr5459 Год назад +2

    Everybody remembers Sinclair because of the dinosaur who doesn't love dinosaurs. I love that Weaver made train in America everybody whines and cries that you can't build anything at a profitable price in America and he proved them damn wrong.

    Last time I motored on Rt. 46 East in Budd Lake, NJ there was a fueling station at the intersection of 46 and Sand Shore Rd. that was fitted out as a Sinclair Station with the green dinosaur. This was a BP and another station at one time. Weaver produced some quality items, better than Lionel. I like your telephone pole lines, you certainly put a lot of work into them. The Sinclair station was still in place as of last year. I reside in Hackettstown, but don't have much call to motor east.

      @@BobsOGaugeTrains I went online and the Sinclair station is still at 213 US Hwy 46 Budd Lake, NJ 07828 and Sinclair Oil is still a working entity. If you're up this way give me a shout, we could meet someplace for coffee.

    I bought a weaver Alco 628 in Santa Fe from a place advertising and classic toy trains. The circuit board went out and I sent the locomotive to Weaver under warranty and Bob Weaver called me and said Frank we have not made this locomotive for 20 years. Since I had just purchased it they put a super heavy-duty circuit board in it because I am an operator. I bought a New Haven rs2 from them and the headlights fell out and because I am visually handicapped and I had trouble with it they paid for me to send it back to them they took it apart hot glue Delight back into a would not fall out again and sent it back to me post paid. That is customer service. To fix an empty a steam turbine they wanted more than what I paid for the whole train set so I told them they could keep the locomotive.

    • @BobsOGaugeTrains

      what a great story. You dont find customer service like that anymore. I still pick up an occasional Weaver car. They were a great asset to the hobby.

      The steam turbine I refer to was made by Mike's train house it was not made by Weaver I just wanted to show the difference between the customer service between the two companies it looks like my phone left some of it out
