Luca Menna pro riders get back on the throttle just before landing a jump and constantly through rollers and whoops. They don't hold the throttle wide open all the way over every jump no matter how big.
It's used to help bring the bike back, if you hit a jump incorrect or if a lip sends you forward, spinning the rear wheel can help bring the bike back. That's why you see when FMX riders initiate back flips they keep the throttle pinned. But that's how it works irl i'm not sure if it would even do anything in this game because it's more arcade.

Thing is, there's no reason to hold the throttle constantly unless braking, it does nothing but hurt the engine (not in game, I know, but in real life). Man I've bought all 3 and played them all a bunch and I'm bummed on 3. Definitely more arcade. I like certain things.. but feel they went backwards in certain things. The bad on 3 1 sound (rev limiter 24/7 is annoying) 2 graphics overall are worse. The game is fuzzy and dark. Not crisp 3 game play is less sim and more arcade. (Bike is super stiff, floats, tires don't spin as fast as your going, replays are worse looking, there are less jumps, rear brake is not strong, clutch doesn't work accurately ) - a lot of people will like this but there's arcade mx games already. Wish they would stick to the realistic stuff. Take mxgp 2 add better sound, scrubs, 2 strokes, terrain deformation, and a track builder and let online multiplayer ride free at the compound. = best game ever
I never owned 1 or 2 after playing the demos i had no interest but purchased number 3 two days ago and absolutely love this game. Unreal how some people here in the comments think the first two are even close to the third. Play the game in first person mode and you will feel the bike as much more immersive. Turn your graphics up on your computer so you can see how the game really looks lol.

The whip was not good, but better cornering, feel of speed, battles without instantly falling off. and a truer feeling of realism. One thing wrong vs many things wrong on MXGP 2 and 3. Less time on customisation and more focus on a better physical game like the 1st one.
Im still a rider and i gotta say 3 is the better out of the lot, in 3 your not just turning on a dime at any speed an not riding over cross ruts without the bike being affected. Where in 3 you can gain traction with the back wheel over wheel tapping bumps and you have to rail ruts or you lose speed or spin out. but that's my opinion

the sound of the engines is the best on the 1. on the 3 rd opus I played one only a few hours because the sound broke my ears. and the off-piste was less punitive, there was no reappearance for each off-piste as on the 2019. the 1 was very fun to play.
I liked the way the bike and the rider moved in 1 and 2. In 3 he looks really stiff and the bike kinda floats over the ground. But 3 looks fast and the sound is getting better.

The 125’s in mxgp 3 are intoxicating, I hate 2 strokes in real life cuz they have been the cause of so much cussing so I stick to 4 and still have hella fun but the game got the power band perfect and it’s so realistic how you can control them way better than a 250 4t but I felt like the 250 2 strokes were weak and not really competitive to a decent rider on a 450
I've had all three. MXGP and MXGP 2 have the best 2nd person bike view. MXGP 3 has the best 1st person bike view by far. You can hit your lines and make it stick in the ruts. MXGP 3 has the only 2nd person distance view. MXGP and MXGP 2 had really good graphics, but MXGP 3 has gone a step above. MXGP and MXGP 2 had poor bike sounds, MXGP 3 is about as realistic as a game can be without actual bike sounds added. On a scale of 1-10 I'd say MXGP 3 is a solid 8!!! Still think I liked the old 2nd person view best. Wish MXGP makers would do an American MX/SX game with an awesome career mode. Have you start on supermini's racing races like Alabama's Spring classic, mini o's and qualifying and racing Loretta Lynn's trying to get PRO sponsors. All the real MX and SX tracks. Also adding a first person only online lobby. Another great add would be a track builder!!! Allowing the gamer to build and play the tracks online. Would be the best all time MX game.

This was also 2 years ago, when the fastest bike I had ridden was a 50cc 2 stroke with stock pipe without restrictions, so I had never really experienced speeds over 65km/h. Also I know what fov is. Don't know if I didn't just notice it or what was the thing, 'cause you know... it was 2 years ago.

In my opinion yeah! It has still some bugs at the moment, but Milestone is working on them already.. Even with these small problems in my opinion this is the best game of the series and one of the best mx games ever
