Hi, The original chips go right below where the SuperMax board is installed, Actually, it hooks to one of the sockets where one of these three chips was. You'll those sockets at 0:50 in the video (not a direct view of the sockets though) I haven't got the synth with me for quite a long time now, so I don't even remember the name/number of those chips but I do believe that the names of the chips are also in the sockets where they fit (don't quote me on this) Also remember reinstalling the silver metal reinforcement once you've removed the SuperMax board, at least when I did it I couldn't put it back once I got the SMB installed, so now you're going back to original settings you should be able to do it. I hope this helps you
ARPEGIATOR: very sophisticate DELAY SOUND STACK: 3 multitimbral stacking modes (8x2, 5x3 or 4x4) with VOLUME, COARSE TUNE and FINE TUNE settings on each voice. SOUND CREATOR: a powerful and effective way to create your own sounds on DX7 ROLLING MODE: allows using up to 4 sounds per patch VELOCITY CROSS-SWITCH: allows switching from one sound to other by velocity. TEMPERAMENT: can be set on each key on the keyboard Es una excelente opcion, y como muestro en el video se instala sin necesidad de soldaduras Saludos
Saludos, amigo.
I didn't try out multitimbral features while I had it, but one of the features says 3 independently assignable MIDI keyboard zones. So I assume it should be 3 part multitimbral No sure though
Gustavo Clerici Yes it would be great to hear something please. You did not place the long silver metal strip back in the video! Does the DX7 not need it or does it not fit anymore once the SUPERMAX has been installed? Great video, ta.
monsterjazzlicks That's correct, once SuperMAX is placed you can't put back that metal part. I'm not sure what is it for (I believe that worked as sort of reinforce since these things were build like a tank) but it's working great without it. No bend on the chassis nor other issues.
monsterjazzlicks yes they're are from France and they have a SperMAX board published on ebay if you are looking for one. This board brings your DX7 closer to XXI Century LOL www.ebay.com/itm/SuperMAX-extension-card-for-Yamaha-DX7-/231298423135?pt=Keyboards_MIDI&hash=item35da75d95f

Hi Gustavo. I'm a brasilian. I live in Brasil, Minas Gerais. I looking to resolve a problem with my DX7 when i saw your video. My battery is over. I changed it but the sounds are lost... I don't know how to fix the problem. But i'll buy SuperMax upgrade. Can you help me about the problem? Thanks
@@GusClerici I promise I wouldn't! I actually could use some more detailed guidance if you have any. I've seen a lot of people online talking about how you have to remove the keyboard to get the supermax board in place, but it doesn't seem like you did that. I'd like to avoid taking out the keyboard if possible. Can you elaborate a bit on that?
I did this long ago and I don't have the DX7 with me anymore But I had to remove the keyboard (check 1:24) the board is too close to the keyboard so you have to remove it but the whole process is pretty straightforward. The only surprise was that I had to remove the reinforced metal piece that you can see apart in 2:24 and the expansion took some room so I couldn't put it back

I have the 3 original chips...... Where do they go?

Does this upgrade make the keyboard 🎹 multitembral?

will this work on a tx7 aswell?
David lundgren, not sure since I've never seen a TX7 from inside but if the main board is the same as in DX7 I assume it may work

Interesting
would have been great to have a verbal walkthrough of the installation process instead of this annoying and pointless nu funk beat, but whatever.
I'm pretty sure you've would criticize my voice
Tip, mute and watch
