We are Stoyan and Dessy from Bulgaria. We are not organization, neither a shelter, we are just an ordinary couple with a big dream. Everything we provide for the stray cats is coming from our own pockets or with the help of donations from our subscribers. We have 4 cats at home, all rescued from the streets - Sopolcho & Bagheera live with us while Alexa & Rijo live with Dessy's mom, who has been feeding and caring of stray animals for the last 10 years. Bulgaria is a small and poor country with lots of stray cats and not enough kind people to take them in. Our dream is to build a shelter where we could take care of many stray cats with the help of Dessy's mom. This cat looks exactly like my dearly departed best bud Lamar. Like you, seeing him in bed, finally feeling secure, warm and not quite as hungry... Finally able to close his eyes contentedly 😢 I cried big, manly, secure tears (that smelled like cigars & WD40 😏)

Yes, they are so sensitive that my cat friend ignored me for several weeks because I was petting my dog. She still stays nearby our house and walks around the garden, but when I try to get close, she gives me a nasty look, as if to say that I smell like dog shit. 😂😂😂😂😂

He, perhaps, is for the first time in his life receiving love, care and respect. How long he has been alive we do not know, but fortunately this cat's life changed for the better, he found good people and he had the value he deserved.
We are looking after an old chap like him. Probably never been loved and never had a name. He had arthritis and is not fast enough to catch food. In the winter he can hardly move. He is so friendly and purrs with happiness and gratitude. He loves us and we love him. He would have made a lovely pet for a family, feral yet so gentle and trusting.

I adopted a stray cat 5 years ago. He had FIV and was in a sad condition. Took him to my vet and she took best care of him. Now he's doing fine and he's my best friend. It warms my heart to see that there are more people out there who care for these very special animals. God bless you.

Stories like this make my day I have 2 cats and cannot imagine life without them I never thought to adopt until my roommate had a cat. I was always a dog person. I didn’t even realize I needed cats in my life.
Cats bring so much joy, purpose and meaning to your life. They can literally save you life. A wet nose and fuzzy face greeting you in the morning or when you get home can even make the worst day tolerable.
So please adopt and save a life! Kittens are amazing but seniors and special needs cats need homes too. Kudos to all the pet adopters out there!

Thank you so much! This reminds me of when my 2 older sisters found a abandoned puppy on the road and they took it inside. My mom when she first saw the puppy, she hated it. She told them to leave it outside, but they insisted on keeping it. When my mom finally said “okay. Fine, but your taking care of it” the puppy always came to her and cuddled with her. My mom has woke up everyday with the puppy cuddling next to her. And eventually the she learned to love the puppy, and their here to this day. Their 11 years old and she’s the happiest old dog I ever seen.

I have an elderly cat with many health problems. I can so identify with the beginnings of peace this cat reveals as he rests in his comfortable bed and slowly eats his food. Better days will come.

The old boys are the best, and so loving and happy when they have a real home, after their days of scrounging for food and fighting off other toms. Feral girls don't get to live as long because of repeated pregnancies, just wears them out. It's heart-breaking to see the love and relief in their eyes when they know they are loved at last.

He knows that he is lucky. I had a cat that was on the streets when I adopted him. Once he was home with he purrs when it was raining outside because he knew he did not have to worry about the rain anymore

I adopted 2 seniors and they were the sweetest chillest cats ever. They've since crossed the rainbow bridge, but it was such a privilege to have provided them with a loving, comfortable home to live their golden years.

I found my cat, Jeff, in the country side near my apartment. He was starving, covered in fleas and ticks, his rib cage was exposed, had roundworms, scars, and a bleeding cut. He was so sweet and I picked him up and took him home. Almost a year later, he is a happy and healthy boy.

I'm so happy you rescued him! I rescued my kitty from my local shelter. She was SO scared and timid at first, but now she's the biggest cuddle baby. I love cats so much. They make your life so much better.
So adorable. Reminds me of my old cat who passed away years ago at the age of 17, he used to follow me all the time, wake me up every day, be there when I got home (no matter how good or horrible a day I'd had it's always good to come home to our furry friends). A kind gentle soul that wouldn't have hurt a fly, quite rare for a cat! I'm so glad the little guy in the video ended up with a nice, caring home and some much needed (and much deserved) kindness ❤️
Only now after who knows how long on the street, bless his little heart. He can be at peace, warm, safe and happy. Only what he deserves.🐱

I honestly doubt that he did it intentionally. We have that problem where I live. We have several people who help take care of some feral colonies, and it is likely someone found it and thought it was just a discarded container.
They should be marked clearly as "CAT SHELTER"

This reminded me of my friend Big Tig. He was totally unsocialised when he first came to our door looking for food. I managed to catch him in a purpose built trap, had him neutered, and took him home to recover. When he was released, he simply walked around the house and took up residence on the back dooor step. He wouldn’t let anyone touch him, but I finally won him over with food. After months of winning his trust, I finally ended up with the most loving creature ever. He didn’t trust anyone other than my husband and me, but to us he gave his love unconditionally.

Often see oldie cats...when you feed them regularly, you can see their struggle to survive is more the younger ones...they look tired, & sometimes more than food, they want to feel loved, after years of being a nothing on the street. ...thank you for your kindness!

@@54pjs To help a human requires to be wise and analyze if that person is worthy of your help or not, we are intelligent enough to discern if someone is really suffering for circumstances he or she was not able to control, like someone losing his house because he lost his job, etc, to help a human requires faith, patience, forgiveness, compassion, and character, its not an easy task, but is the ultimate sacrifice a person can give, give up his life for others, because if we do good only to those that are doing good to us, where is the reward on that, but loving those that hate us or those who don’t show any gratitude, that’s what compassion is all about, thats what forgiveness is all about, and that’s the measure from which God is going to judge us, but we have to be wise to act according to the circumstances, and the specific situation, sometimes is better to back down and be far away from certain people.
Yeah. I’m more of a “let me cure this cat back to health and see how I deal with things after” instead of a “what about all the money I’m about to waste on this cat?! I feel bad but I’m not taking him in” person. Even if it’s for the night, I’d take the cat in and then think about that. A homeless or abandoned cat deserves to have a nice place to sleep in and the streets don’t do that. After a bath, food, check up and sleep I’d feel better looking for someone who’ll take them in and take care of them if I can’t. 😕 A night costs nothing other than human kindness and empathy. It’s just a night, people who think like that are thinking of months and years with a cat.

I have got a feral cat living in my shed....its took me 8 months to get anywhere near him....now he lets me stoke him and slowly he has started coming in my kitchen but I have to keep still or he runs out again...I know he will be in the house by Christmas...

Whoever stole his little plastic cat house is horrible and mean and can go to hell how could somebody do that thank you guys for taking this poor fella and needs extreme help breaks my heart to see animals in that kind of condition God bless you guys for helping out

There are probably at least a dozen people, if not more, in this thread who have rescued animals in distress. There's always room for more people doing it.

What's really missing is everyone asking themselves and others "how can we prevent it?". Prevention is always better than cure and will always mean less suffering.
I'm like them. I save cats. My sister feeds many feral cats also as people drop so many off in the Park area she lives near. Together we help whoever comes along. We do the best we can for all of them. Even have cat houses with electric heating pads made for animals so they keep warm and have shelter. The Lord God Almighty created animals for a reason and not to be abused by humans. He put them on the Ark and that speaks volumes.
Old feral cats make the best single person cats. You'll be *their* human.
I got a street cat. He wandered up one cold fall day. Been here ever since.

Ha! My old guy is "Prince Leopold III"...HE HAS ONE TOOTH! When I had to rescue 4 kittens born in late fall, he got really jealous and started shitting randomly in the middle of the floor, so now he lives in the garage. He has that same squishy bed, with a heated pad underneath.
Bless his heart. And yours, too, are blessed. Thank you for getting this elderly gentleman off of the streets. Everyone deserves a warm and safe place to rest and be able to live.

This sweet old boy reminds me of my family’s sweet old boy:
His name was Whitey: I called him that as a joke, he was supposed to be pure white but had a habit of rubbing his face on fences and making his face dirty. When we adopted him our vet said he probably only had 6 months left (kidney failure, needed teeth removed, ears cleaned, a gash on his neck stitched, etc our boy needed a real tune up) ...
He ended up being part of our family for 5 years and I’ll always remember our grumpy-faced boy.
Old cats are just as loving as young ones, bless you for saving this sweet boy 💙🐱💙

My cats..all of them...have become way more loving the older they've become. When younger they were just interested in eat, playing, sleeping...repeat.
That's nice. Now go out and find some more 'old boys' to rescue and fix up.

Chai'naMarie03 exactly! Whitey just got more affectionate as he got older ... it was a teeny bit grubby whenever he rolled in the dirt then wanted hugs but we loved him for all his quirks 😂😂😂

It breaks my heart in a million pieces to see cats in such dire conditions, and am so deeply moved by people who help/rescue them. I want to help by donating, but in the past when I've done that, I became unsure if they were legit as I never got a response from the email address I used to Paypal them money.
