Seen this when it dropped, still to this day the best 'Jump' synth cover on this platform, there are so many things other people just miss in the performance of this tune when they've covered it, let alone actually nailing the tone instead of just using a basic saw wave and slightly detuning it, this vid is literally the benchmark for the album version of 'Jump' on synth, I don't even think EVH himself could play it this well by the time he finally went back to his home planet, respect.

Finally, a version with the right sound AND the right notes. I am more of a guitar player and just had assumed that "virtual analog" synths were probably no better than the "virtual tube" amp modelers that still sound miles away from what they are trying to imitate (I wish I did like modeling maps as they are so convenient, but my ears just aren't convinced from anything I've heard so far).
THIS, however, is so damn close it could have fooled me - and sounds closer than all of the real Oberheim covers I've heard thus far (although I do not claim to have heard them all!) If you would have told me you used a vinyl record for playback of the original version, I would have thought the differences came only from a different source as I can detect a minor difference in sound compared to the CD pressings I am so familiar with without even checking it.
Ironically, this Nord cover sounds more real than the original played on FM radio as well, since analog FM, well, mangles the crap out of its original source quite badly...
I've seen this keyboard in store catalogs for years but never got around to hearing one till just now. I had no idea... Saying I'm impressed may be a bit of an understatement!

I love it! that Album rocked! One of my favorite songs along with Dreams.
Seeing that video of the Blue Angels when they flew the A4 Skyhawk was amazing, back then they flew the tightest formation in the business, but due to so many air crashes they started flying more loose formations.

Um not to burst your bubble.
You can't compare a trainer jet to an F-18.
Let's go back further an A-4 Skyhawk
Oh wait let's go back even further F-4 Phantom.

I am former Marine Corps Aviation. Yeah I know what I am talking about :) F-18's then to KC-130's. We used to pull the Fat Albert KC-130 into our hanger all the time and always had front row seats and all the swag we wanted and exposure to the entire crews.

I almost went with the nord stage 2, I went with Korg Kronos 2 instead....and OMFG!
Nord, Korg and yamaha have to be the best synths on the planet right now, you cant go wrong with either choice

Finally somebody playing the solo correctly. Good sound too! On live situations on the bridge passage I play the strings parts since in my opinion is the most dominant sound, then I switch back the the main saw sound. Thanks!

The nord doesn't have the fatness and low end of the Oberheim, but the tone is spot on. Great job, it's as close as you can get without an OB-xa and your actual keyboard skills are phenomenal.
