I got this as a Christmas gift one day as a boy and played it on a little portable record player. I must have heard it dozens of times. I loved it, but for some reason I forgot all about Star Trek until I discovered TOS on reruns in local TV in Los Angeles years later. Those music tones practically wreak of nostalgia. Thank you for uploading this beautiful gift

Sulu black, Uhura white and blonde... and no back to the captain's chair! What's going on!
I had this and a bunch of other Power Record sets when I was a kid. Loved 'em! Thanks for posting these and for the memories!

This brings back memories! As a little kid, the voices and cheezy-ness never occurred to me. But I loved it. Had 3 or 4 and played the 45s like crazy.

I had a cassette tape of this story, with the Passage to Moauv on the flip side.

I keep the comic in my comic collection but I still have the record that came with it. Lost the cover a long time ago.

I got this for my birthday or Christmas the year it was published, but I don't remember the comic book. So, to recap: "Conners" has a Russian accent, Uhura's a blonde, and Sulu is black. Riiiight.

I had to watch this with my eyes closed because Uhura and Sulu were too disorienting. --oh, I like her pants in that one panel though! They're flared just like everyone else's.

The artist made Uhura white and blonde. LOL I'm guess he never watched Star Trek.

Or probably saw one episode with Lt. Palmer, the blonde white replacement and mistook her for Uhura.

My guess is that the artist watched one episode of Star Trek...The Doomsday Machine. Lt. Palmer, a cute and competent blonde was the communications officer in that ep. He might've just gotten confused. However, what about Sulu? It's weird.

I had this record as a kid and loved it. But now that I’m an adult and see this artwork again, it’s embarrassingly bad. OMG. Whoever did it was clearly not respectful of the material or interested in creating accurate animations. It’s amateurish at best. I cringed watching this. Just terrible. Why did Paramount license Power Records to mistreat their property this way. I guess I know the answer to that. This was produced in the period of time after the original series had been cancelled and before The Motion Picture was released. During this weird time, Paramount didn’t really care about Star Trek. They didn’t see any substantial profit or future in the franchise so I suppose they just handed out licenses to whoever came around wanting produce something Stark Trek-related. They didn’t much care how it was distorted or disrespected as long as they made an easy buck off the agreement. It wasn’t until the massive worldwide success of Star Wars that it occurred to Paramount that they had something that could rival it. Once they realized there was potentially big profit in sci-fi, they pulled Star Trek off the shelf, dusted it off and the rest is history.

My late wife left me with 2 Star Trek records .
The thing is that I don't have a record player .
Sorry but I also don't know the names of them .

How could they have got so many things wrong Uhura a blonde white woman, Sulu a black man and Connors who knows what he was as his voice and accent were strange and didn't fit his pictures. Still enjoyable though and those of us who are starved of all Star Trek new versions and repeats, it is a welcome addition.
