I love the portrayal of the villains in this show. That smile they give each other in the end, completely humanizes them. Imagine Moff Gideon doing that? See?
@@GenerationTechShorts I can just imagine Gideon starting out as an idealistic intel officer like Dedra Meero, but the job slowly breaks him. Maybe he becomes friends with Gar Saxon and the two cooperate a lot on taking down the enemies of the Empire, then one day he hears that Saxon and his family are dead and the Mandalorians are rebelling. Maybe that's what motivated him to go full Base Delta Zero on Mandalore, eh?
It was a really good surprise to see him continue to desire bringing Justice to his fallen members after his superior told him to stand down. And a great surprise when he found someone else who wanted to do something about it. And the nuance of it all, that their fallen comrades are the ones who acted immorally. And if they’d have the same conviction knowing that their people are the ones in the wrong. Absolutely beautiful writing.
People still use that tired old meme? Compared to the woke garbage they've been shoveling out in the past 12 years, the Twilight movies look like masterpieces.
The accents are great, give a great sense of authority, kyle soller has this uneasy state that makes you question, what will he do? He's definitely going to be a thorn in cassians side and I think he makes some of the coolest facial expressions in the show. Another cool thing is that the faces of the actors seem not of this earth but from a galaxy far far away but further away from the rest of star wars. When I think of this show unlike the mandalorian that obviously features some odd planets and surrounds andor hits just right at immersing me personally in the more upclose and personal take on star wars!
Quite possibly one of if not the best bromance in Star Wars so far. (I'm not counting Jedi master/Padawan relationships because those are more like "surrogate parent-and-child" relationships.)
I found the Deputy Inspector to be a bit of an enigma, I figured from the trailers that he'd be your run of the mill Fascist Idealist, but no, he shows a devotion to duty that's actually admirable, whips a complacent and arguably lazy security firm into shape to actually do some police work and seeks to uphold the law even when it inconveniences himself. It's honestly weird having a Star Wars villain I can root for like that, haven't had that since Krennic in Rogue One...hmm...I'm sensing a pattern here...what could it be? I'm honestly less convinced that Karn himself is evil or complacent, but that the institution he works for is. Preox Morlana Security doesn't deserve his loyalty yet he gives it anyways. Poetic, really.
Indeed. Tbh I see him as a good cop in a bad system. He isn't perusing Cassian Andor out of some desire for revenge or to fuel his own ambition to climb the corpo ladder. But because as far as he knows and is concerned, Cassian Andor killed two of his co-workers in cold blood - as far as he can tell - and as the law states, he needs to be brought in to answer for his crimes.
@@MR.LMR1996 For sure. In any other story, Karn would be the plucky young idealistic cop who acted against complacent, corrupt leadership to bring an evil-doer to justice.
Maybe it's because I'm biased because of the audiobook but definitely could see him in the early part of the Commonwealth Saga if it's ever adapted into a series. Definitely see him as a gung-hole member of the knights of selfhood or something similar c:
Heck yeah the whole investigation angles actually what got me from going to just watch one episode that night that it premiered to watching all three... Yeah I was tired but you know what I liked it it was worth it
The Corporate Security crew are my favourite especially Morsk and Karn. The comradeship between them was great it did make you like them how they inspired each other. Reminded me of British soldiers in ww1. You’d have the aristocrat (Karn) together with the hardened commoner (morsk) working together on the front.
That's the interesting part of the series. No one is really portrait as cartoonesque villain. Timm became a snitch, because was a simple man, that simply didn't have the ability to handle a situation that was way over his head. Syril and Mosk are earnest and eager persons wounded by desire to meet a larger purpose in life, which makes them perfect vessels to become drunk with power under a fascist regime. They are all real human beings, that might had even become heroes in a different life, but ultimately let their false sense of justice, sweep them along, causing endless suffering all around. Timm never had the chance to understand the full implications of his actions; let's see if Syril does. Same with Dedra and her love-stricken aid.
That exchange of smiles made these guys all the more human.

@@GenerationTechShorts classic evil smile
Gideon still a great villain tho

Glad to see the Sergeant survived Chernobyl.
Radiation only made him tougher to kill 😂
Comrade Shcherbina too
And one of the ISB agents too!
It’s funny because the Empirical Council scenes reminded me so much of that scene in Chernobyl were the Chernobyl leaders were discussing what to do.

I enjoyed that Sergeant character very much. They picked an excellent actor for it.
Syril Karn and Linus Mosk: a better love story than Twilight...
True.

I really hope we see the sergeant again

I want to see them both working together again. They worked well together. Both seem to have the proper respect for each others position.
Honestly, I just viewed these guys as mall cops. Some mall cops are just there for the paycheck. Others go full mall ninja
Hope to see these guys return!

I can't wait for perfect cospaly pair of two stereotypical SW fans- fat guy and skinny dude ;)
More likely Gorman and Vasquez.
Hehe
It was fun to watch their eagerness
They need to bring that sergeant back!
I was thinking the same thing. It's like a Lt and platoon sergeant
Little Chernobyl reunion with Alex Ferns and Stellan Skarsgård ;)
plus Robert Emms who played one of the scientists in Chernobyl and now an imperial intel officer in this

I love them. They are like star wars buck and skull from power rangers
Gotta throw in "MAXIM 2: a sergeant in motion outranks a lieutenant who doesn't know what's going on."
Syril and Sarge getting the band back together episode 12 we will see
Im just waiting for the Imperial Ground forces to get more screen time, they were in SOLO and it was epic!!!
Bruh 😂
ok
Walter and the dude
They would make a great double act
it'll be interesting to note which one goes on to work with the empire, and which one goes on to join the rebels
Waiting for new Earth 🌎🌍 in Star Wars soon 😕
Wouldn't it be old earth?

If only they'd had Sigourney Weaver to save the...no, wait, that ended up a fuster cluck too.
This can be boiled down to one sentence. A sergeant in motion outranks a lieutenant that doesn't know what is happening.
Of course being followed by: an ordinance technician at a dead run outranks everybody. I can't resist this combo for some reason.
