    Films like this that display such a raw human experience is what makes us feel connected and seen. I just watched this movie yesterday and cried through almost the whole thing. There's nothing more isolating than navigating the loss of a loved one. There's a real sense of comfort in knowing you're not the only one who has faced grief and death. Superb script, use of color theory and camera angles. Pure, beautiful acting. Like you said, this was nothing short of an excellent movie. I'm sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing your experience.

    So happy that movies like this are still being made. A familiar drama story that turns into one of, if not my favorite movie of the year so far. I just feel so protected by this movie because of the loveable sisters all around. Eventhough, i don't have a sister, i do relate to some of the conflicts that they faced when they were taking of their dying father. All three actresses are terrific but Natasha Lyonne was unexpectedly my favorite part of the whole movie. I don't kno their Oscar chances but i do hope that The Academy could take a look at this movie and considers for it's acting and screenplay for a nomination. The ending was a truly surprise too, the actor who played the dad only appeared at the end for like 5 minutes but god damn, he sold that role, it made me teared up throughout his whole speech about his three daughter. This was Elizabeth Olsen's first non MCU movie since 2018 and she deserves some awards for her work in this masterpiece
    I can see why Netflix spent $7 million to buy the rights of this movie from last year's TIFF and man, it was so worth it

    I'm sorry for your loss 🙏🏾 Thank you for your candor and for sharing. It is good to know you aren't the only one. I feels like it when you are going through it. I want to see this movie, but I'm afraid to at the same time. I'm one of three sisters (the oldest) and we lost our mom to cancer in 1995. It was devastating and life-changing for us. One of those movies that broke me to the point that I can never watch it again is Terms of Endearment. I sobbed all through the end credits of that one.

    I was going to watch this movie eventually but I tried to hurry up and watch it because I saw you reviewed it. I’m so happy I did even though the flood gates were flowing for me too. I haven’t experienced a parent dying yet but this movie definitely hits home when remembering my experiences with other family members deaths. I almost want to do a video of my own to discuss the amazingness (is that a word?!) of this movie. So well done and definitely Oscar worthy. Thank you so much for your review and your vulnerability. I just finished watching the movie only because I saw you did a review about it. I had added it to my Netflix list , but it was way down the line because by the title, I figured it would be a very serious sentimental movie. I enjoyed it and would recommend it. The movie that makes me cry is Forrest Gump every time. When Jenny dies and when Forrest puts his son on the school bus at the end 😢.

    Tait thank you so much for sharing this recommendation. Seeing that it's about a family's challenges as their father is in hospice really resonates with me: My family went through this situation with my grandad last year. My dad, my grandma and I were the ones primarily watching him bc we all lived together. Then my aunt and uncles (my dad's siblings) started coming up once he went to the hospital. Our family didn't fight, but it was still a lot to process. He was my second dad, and I think about him all the time (I made a tribute film for him that we played at his funeral and I would watch it everyday for weeks whenever I missed him). Movies like this can deeply resonate. My deepest condolences for your beautiful mother, I'm sending you and your sister so much love!!! 💖💖💖💖💖💖 I watch all your reviews and love them, so thank you so much for sharing this one.

    Great Review! I didn't even read the description of the movie, I just wanted a movie to watch and this one was recommended. I can't even relate to this situation with personal experience but the movie made me cry some really real tears. It was so realistic and grounded.
    And I usually don't cry at movies either although Hatchiko makes me cry every single time I watch it. I've seen it probably about 10 times and it never fails to make me cry like a baby😂

    First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. Second of all, how dare you put that scene at the end of your review and let me cry my eyes out? Today I did the really stupid thing of looking through my Google memories and saw a pic of my dad. I rarely do that. Went to his grave today, too. And that scene just... Uf. But it did answer the question if I'm ready to watch this or not. Hell, no. Not anytime soon anyway... Same with This Is Us. That one just hits too close to home.

    • @TaitsTake
      @TaitsTake  3 месяца назад +1

    Wow, what a beautiful video. Thank you, Tait! Thanks for sharing, and for your sensitive review. I wouldn't be able to watch this because of what I went through when my Mom and fiancé died one week apart four years ago. I'm still not "okay" yet.
    I never watched X-Men First Class. But the end of Infinity War tore me up!! It's even worse now watching it when *Black Panther* turns to dust and... well, you know. 😞😩😭
    As for a movie that made me break down and cry, I watched one last year and then again a few months ago on Netflix called *"Long Story Short."* I won't even talk about it. Just PLEASE watch it!!! I think this movie should be required before a couple can get married or even in a relationship. Ronny Chieng (from The Daily Show) is in it. There are some really cute and funny moments, but then BAM!!!! The message is strong and done in a short amount of time. 🥺
