Is saying “صلى الله عليه وسلم” considered to be sending salawat upon the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم)? And therefore is that considered to be a form dhikr to send salawat and hence gain the rewards mentioned in this talk?
    جزاك الله خيرا 🙏 🤲

Salam. Yes, saying صلى الله عليه وسلم when the Prophet is mentioned is considered sending salawat upon him. It is a form of dhikr and has the reward mentioned. The best form of salawat as mentioned in the hadith is the salat-ul-ibrahimiya which is the one we do in prayer. When sending salawat it is better to include the the family and companions of the Prophet ﷺ and send salams. So, for example, to say:
اللهم صل على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه وسلم
Scholars have written many different forms of salawat which include duaas. There are in fact books written just with the different formulations sawalat upon him ﷺ.
