It's almost impossible for someone who hasn't at least tried to extensively play the game to fathom what is happening, the curve is as steep as they come. Most people will still have no idea about the skill involved even after watching movies like this.

Just like 20+ years ago, today I learned about a new artist to listen to because of watching a fragmovie. Nostalgia hitting hard, especially with a well made movie.
This deserves much more attention! This is sooo much work in editing! I also created a few fragmovies. But this is perfekt! You combined my fav game and music and synced picture and music - by far the best fragmovie I have ever seen! Great edit, great player and great music!
You would have to crawl through at least 15 years of demos to make a proper movie. Tox goes back to 2001 IIRC, I think clanbase eurocup 7 in Amsterdam was the first time I took notice of him. He looked like a 12 year old and was way out of shape, but his rail was as sick as it gets xD
_Quake Champions_ is a great game. All of the _Quake_ games are great games. ...but _Quake 3 Arena_ and _Quake Live_ are my favorite games of all time. I'll probably be playing them both 40 years from now if I'm not dead. 🙃
I can't comprehend how quick their reflexes are. I mean to keep your aim fixated at the enemy with extreme screen shaking is quite difficult and at the same time laudable.

Ah nvm, the original tolstyitrol movie is still there. Evil Quake: ruclips.net/video/Ac21utswY7c/видео.html But this one was made in 2013, and Evil improved a lot toward 2015 and 2016, so definitely doesn't show his full skill as you say.

Hey editor here. It's a combination of Vegas Pro for editing, After Effects for graphics/effects/everything post and Studio One for sound design and mixing/mastering. The config I've had for many many years, iirc it might've been the Wolf Whisperer default cfg which was a kind of ui addon for Wolfcam. I'm not even sure if that project is supported anymore but google might help you there. Also keep in mind a fair bit of the look is achieved in post with color grading and so on. The raw wolfcam capture looks a lot more flat. As for the particle effects, I started out with entik's fx scripts which he graciously included in the original download for The Contenders 2 back in the day and then it's been years and years of customization and iterations until I landed on something I was happy with. Hope that answered some of your questions :)
@@maximmarkelov7929 The weapon effects are achieved with so called ".fx" scripts in wolfcam. If you google how to set up q3mme scripts you'll probably find a guide or two. You can change the billboards by replacing the textures in the wolfcam directory (unless you mean the sequence from 4:59 - 6:03 which is all done in after effects and not in game. The impressive medal (and all the others) are also after effects animations added in post and not in wolfcam. I hope this answered some of your questions.

usually i watch videos in 1,5x-2x. but this one was pretty good so i slowed down to regular 1x. plus it's Quake Live, and this moba nonsense called QC. here's like + comment to help with those algorithms.
I once played K1llsen on Quake Live and he got me 20-0 easily - I didn't know what I could do to get even one single frag, I'm not a pro ofc but this was a super weird experience, since then I'm his fan, always rooting for K1lllsen :)

quake 3 / Live was popular and had big prizes from 1999 till about 2008-2012, halo sadly killed arena fps games.
