Good looking tree and you have it going in the right direction. 😊
It seems everyone has the same struggles when they start with bonsai, unfortunately people don't do the research about pot size and soils before the purchase of the tree and then it dies. Good video dude 👍🏻

The hydrogen peroxide treatment is a life saver for struggling trees with root issues, keep it in your back pocket. You can water with the solution as well, 2 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide/ 1/2 gallon of water if you see a tree struggling and can’t repot.
P.S - if your looking for some amazing maples I have great dwarf species that everyone who loves maples should have in their collection, reach out if your interested, I have a small nursery dedicated to bonsai.

Yesterday I found a bright red vine maple seedling. No but it's full almost they're easy to spot out. Same goes for JM If you know where any are. Go for yamadori. You'll be mind blown how many excellent topped pre bonsai you'll find

Let it grow for a couple of years, no pruning . Make it strong and let the trunk get bigger. All that pruning is no good for a tree in that state.. 👍🏼
