- Two Scottish boys set out on a life long journey to catch the worlds most sought out bird: THE PIGEON. A 30min short that spans three generations of pigeon capturing. The story is loosely based around the life of the late Pigeon Man Terrance McConnachie . Written and directed by Gerard Roxburgh
Majority of the film is based on true events excluding the falconer scene.

Had lurchers for 25+ an have nothing but respect for the doo men. So glad to have found this an see my uncle Billy years after his passing an John as well . RIP to two that will never ever be forgotten.

Takes me back when I flew Pouters in Easter house. Great memories . That was fifty years ago. I had a wee homer doo let out in the morning came back at night cos it was hungry. Great film make more if possible. Thank you. Might get the hammer and nails oot and make a dookit and get a couple of pair.

@@davidpurves1929 yep a different breed my friend the guy who plays the young bunny is my cuz he's now a successful producer for the UFC and a stand alone director he's won the tribeca film festival award etc worked with a lot of very famous and successful people but he was brought up around me an my uncles and cousins most of the uncles doo men an greyhound racers, Ashfield track at possilpark with Arthur Thompson snr etc, shawfield, Girvan, Irvine, flapping tracks like mount Vernon all gone now and sad but thank God my 17yr old had the influence of these things from me he's more of a man than most 30yr old plastic gangsters 🙄

I love Pouters. Probably my favorite breed, all of them. Thief Pouters, Croppers, Pomeranian Pouters, very friendly pigeons.

My father is a Doo Man from the south side of Glasgow, it's a great hobby. You don't see that many doocots these days ( or as we say in Glasgow Dookit ).There used to be a lot of them on empty spare ground plots, but a lot of them have come down as the land is used for housing.😞

Wonderful wee find 👌💯 I really liked this short film and proud to say that I too am from Greenock ❤️🏴 You don't see many doohuts now, when I was a wee girl there was a couple around the back of my house in Corlic Street. I used to sit at my bedroom window and watch them fly ☺️🐦🐦

Film True life..gr8 characters in the doo game...been in my family father to son/nephew even daughters...over 50 years...!still have my doos in my garden...were my father's was(CHAZA mc)..some gr8 times laughs jokes,.. patter...also some of most loyal friend you would be lucky enough to meet...🕊
