Hey Tara! Cookie baker here :) when you make cookies don’t melt the butter! Try to use softened butter and cream that together with your sugars until it’s lighter in colour and fluffier! Hope that helps! 🫶🏻
I am so happy you decided to do vlogmas in your terms Tara! You are by far my favourite youtuber and I always pause whatever I’m watching on Netflix or stopping whatever I’m doing to watch your vlogs. Even if I’m not in a wifi zone😂 Happy vlogmas we love you! Ps would you ever consider doing a PO Box so the viewers can send you Christmas gifts? And have like a tara Christmas viewers edition special?
@@imtaramichelle you’re most welcome🥰 that’s okay and totally understandable! I love to crochet so I had an idea of something I wanted to make you🌲Thank you so much I will! I’ll treat myself to a mani-pedi for my Christmas/winter themed engagement photos coming up💜
Tara when you were at the Holiday Light Show and said “people are going to think we are actually together” I was reminded of a story my mom told me. She and my step dad were walking through a dark aquarium together many years ago, and as they went along, took each others hand while looking at everything. Only to realize my mom was actually holding the hand of some random lady she had never met. They both thought they were holding their husbands hands 😂 😂😂 The office looks so pretty! Loving the table too! 🎄❤️
Hard tapping the measuring cup on the counter compacts the flour. You may have ended up with more flour than you needed. House looks fantastic! Awesome to see you really happy, finding your flow and truly settling into your Canada home and life. 🎄
For the little white houses they actually have them at Target for like 10 and 5 bucks each. Only thing is idk if you would have to make a Buffalo trip again to get them 😬 but beats 40 a piece 🤗 love your vlogs always! Happy vlogmas day 2! ❤
Hi key, I feel that you always go through your office / storage closet at Christmas time and it is because you use them for gifts or holiday decor. So I do not blame you. You have a maintenance schedule that works for you!! And it’s good that you acknowledge when it’s time to declutter it! So I’m proud of you!
Tara make sure you use scales to measure not cups and softened butter not melted always use half brown sugar half castor sugar and you can’t go wrong :) also cream the sugars and softened butter until light and fluffy add your egg, vanilla then fold in flour, baking powder and chocolate chips.
Professional pastry chef here and the toll house cookie recipe is my go to. Don’t melt your butter and use it room temperature. You beat and butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy, slowly add eggs and vanilla and then add your dry ingredients. I like gooey cookies and find they always turn out much better and chewier this way.
When you cook, there is only brown sugar that you have to squeeze into your measuring cup. The flour must remain fluffy even if you equalize it with your knife. Little trick for you, but you cook the way you want !😉 When your preparation is too dry, you add a little butter. For your little white houses, go see on the site of Bouclair, there are discounts.
When you compact the flour by tapping the measuring cup you end up with more flour than you should. Try "fluffing" the flour in the bag with a fork, then gently scoop and level with knife - Happy Baking🥰
Love when you decorate! Doesn’t feel like Christmas until every part of your house is decorated. The Christmas tree, mini Christmas tree and the reindeer looks so good in your office. can’t wait to see the other part of your office is decorated. I can vision white houses with the garland, mini decorations on the mini tree and maybe some white or beige decor ontop of the shelf? 🥰 🎄
Best Choc Chip Cookies Ever! Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies: 1 cup salted butter, softened 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 eggs 2 1/3 cup flour 3.4 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips Preheat oven to 175°C. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream together the butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl, 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat 1 egg in at a time. In a separate bowl mix flour, pudding mix, baking powder and soda, and salt. Combine the two bowls together. Then slowly add chocolate chips. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. The center will look a little underdone. Let sit on baking sheet for 2-5 minutes before removing to cooling rack. Enjoy!
Happy you decided to do vlogmas your way… I’m like you I keep things for memories.. plane tickets, concert tickets, money from another place.. Sending positive vibes your way..♥️♥️♥️
Today has been a rough day, I found a card that was written to me from my late mom back in 2014 that made me miss her so much. Your video on my subscription feed gave me a little sense of comfort so thank you, I really needed it ❤️🥺
Loving Vlogmas! I was surprised that the recipe called for melted butter, usually softened butter creamed with sugars. It would change texture, but they tasted good which is the only thing that matters 💜
I'm glad you decided to do vlogmas your way and I hope this way helps your mental health and overall wellbeing stay good and healthy! We all would rather you be happy and healthy than frustrated and struggling! 🥰
I think you'd love scrapbooking! You kind of do already with the photo album memories, but there are so many cool papers and stickers out there, as a sentimental person you might enjoy it, it's pretty therapeutic 🙂
My fav cookie recipe is the bon Appétit brown butter toffee chocolate chip cookies. I am not kidding when i say they’re insaneee & my family only requests me to make those now. So highly highly recommend them!!
You have to try Nestle Toll House cookie recipe that's on the back of their chocolate chip bag! It's my absolute favorite and I make it for my family all the time, they also love it!! ☺🍪
In the office you definitely should add some twinkle lights on the shelves or the desk, maybe even in the fireplace! Also a light green and white placemat/tablecloth/table runner type thing on the desk…maybe you can picture what I mean😂
I would add a pop of red or some silver or gold to your Christmas Decor 🌲 I love Snickerdoodles so Delicious. Sometimes I put some Christmas sprinkles on them they are a Hit at my Christmas Gatherings. I love Christmas 🎄🥰
Tell me I wasn’t the only one who while Tara was trying to fix the bottom of the tree in their head said “use a zip tie! Use a zip tie!” Right before she said “I can use a zip tie” 😂
Tara I have made a lot a lot of cookies and honestly the recipe on the back of the toll house chocolate chips bag is the best. You can just google it but a couple things I do different is I brown the butter (and you must use real unsalted butter) and I beat the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture on high in my stand mixer for no less then 10 minutes. Until it starts to resemble a meringue. Other wise I fallow the recipe to a T. They are the absolute best ppl are crazy about my cookies.
I make cookies for my friends all the time! I’m at the point where they have little tins they bring me for refills haha. I’ve yet to meet someone that makes as good of chocolate chip cookies as me. I literally just follow the nestle toll house recipe, but I brown the butter instead of melting it in the microwave (use kerigold). Then I also ball and chill the do for a few hours. That’s what makes cookies stay fluffier and softer! Bake for 9-10 minutes and then let them sit on the pan for a bit to finish baking a little more. They are chefs kiss😘👌🏼
1 teaspoon loose leaf tea per cup. Your Christmas decor Looks wonderful! I'm liking the tree with lights more than I thought I could. Check out Target for your houses. Very reasonably priced.
Next time you make cookies pull your stick of butter out of the fridge and hour or two before you make them. Using your mixer cream your butter and sugars together and mix the flour in and stop, over mixing does change the texture of the cookies. Also if your a higher elevation than sea level you need to adjust your recipe. Bake one or two cookies, refrigerate a few and freeze a few. The reason the recipe says to put it in the fridge is so the flavors meld (similar to how marinated meat had more flavor). Plus raw cookie dough stores in the freezer and you can pull several out, bake them fresh and they are amazing! Canada has a brand of chocolate chucks for cookies called Chipits that I've seen another Canadian baker use and I want to try them!
Peanut butter cookies 1 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg Roll into small balls then press them gently with a fork to create cookie shape and pattern on top Bake 350 for 8-10 minutes *optional- sprinkle with sugar* Quick cookies that taste like peanut butter fudge

Beat in eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Mix in the dry ingredients until combined. Add 12 oz package of chocolate chips and mix well. Roll 2-3 TBS (depending on how large you like your cookies) of dough at a time into balls and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheets. (alternately, use a small cookie scoop to make your cookies). Bake in preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are just BARELY starting to turn brown. Let them sit on the baking pan for 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
If you have some patience I honestly recommend bon appetit chocolate chip cookie recipe. So good it's life changing. But also you should try to let the dough sit for a bit. It let's the flour hydrate thr dough and prevent those flour bits you got. It'll also brown more evenly.
Obsessed with your vlogs!!! Always so good 💯 ohh also… Maybe you can add a garland around one side (right side) of the rectangular mirror above the console in the living room!
Hi Tara, DYSON box would be good for your memorabilia instead of the basket you have it in. I love what you have done to decorate your house for Christmas!
Only because you asked….cream your fat and sugar together until light and fluffy. Then if you don’t have weight measurements in your recipe, always scoop with a spoon and level off the flour with a knife without shaking or tapping. Tapping until you get a smooth surface greatly increases the amount of flour you use and gives you the lumpy cookie. When you add your chips, try to avoid overmixing ( I don’t know that you did). Most doughs don’t like being overworked, just stir until combined. Hope that helps and doesn’t sound critical. And thank you for your veggie prep videos. My sisters really enjoyed the broccoli when I copied your seasoning.
happy vlogmas day 2!!!! 🥰🎄
Hi Tara. I think you would enjoy Icelandic Pepper cookies…you can find the recipe online.

To avoid crumbly cookies the butter and sugar have to be creamed. Using the hand mixer will help to get it to a voluminous light point

Try not packing or tapping your flour in the cup next time you bake. Spoon it in instead until it’s heaping over the cup and then level it out 👍🏻
I really like your kitchen lights. Everything has turned out so nice in your place!

I think once you have pictures in those frame for your office, it’ll loook all put together
Bouclair has those houses and so does homesense if you’re able to find any left 🤣
Tara!!! To stop the raccoons from digging up your grass, try putting out black pepper. It should stop them in their tracks and won’t hurt them!
I think they have those little houses at like Superstore! Which is like Loblaws/President’s Choice.
Oh please try Giada de Laurentiis fig and walnut cookies…it’s a bit of work but oh, they are good. We make it every Christmas..😊

I've watched this vlog 3 times! I think I search tara michelle 100 times more through vlogmas!
For your cookies I suggest sifting the flour as well.. not tapping the measuring cup on your counter to fit more in.. Happy vlogmas Tara!! 😊
Bouclair has the little white houses!! Bogo 50% right now too
Love the office! I kept my dyson airwrap container to keep everything in, but my mom uses hers as a storage container for her wool mittens and hats.
Me to my tv: just ziptie the branch!
Tara on my tv: I can ziptie it!!
Yesss, same braincell
Hi Tara, DYSON box would be good for your memorabilia instead of the basket you have it in. I love what you have done to decorate your house for Christmas!
For the hanging branches you can always use one of the other branches and bend it up and around a branch above if you don’t have zip ties =]
very happy for the vids we’re getting during vlogmas🥹 your vids are always so fun to watch
You can absolutely feel & say u feel pretty!!!! No shame sister- love ur hair too.
Great video
And your tree by your deer reminds me of the Charlie Brown tree...lol
Looks fab
Girly even thou you hate to do the vlogmas i love it … you are so fun
The cookies were different because of the melted butter , sugar and butter mixture should be fluffy 🍪 Happy vlogmas
