You have to be batshit crazy to do a timer-less pick draft
We do it every year in our main dynasty league for the rookie draft (the no timer is a redraft issue)
9 hours just to go 8-8 is wild
10 Team, league started in 1977, custom scoring system, 45-60 minute BBQ after round 6, and it still takes under 4 hrs!
That’s gotta be one of the oldest FF leagues in America.
@@axe2grind244 I've "only" been drafting in the league since the 90's. We used to get our statistics/scores from the Monday morning sports page, keep track like a manual excel spreadsheet with pencil and paper!
I didn't know fantasy was that old. I thought it started in the 80s with baseball
@@travisbur7110the story goes that some Raiders staff members created the game to make it more fun tracking free agents across the league.
You are as cool as they come lol
What a title. And yes. Hell on earth.
Did multiple slow draft leagues for years. No more. This stuff is the reason I quit fantasy
We do 90 sec picks, come prepared
90 seconds is 100% enough time. Honestly any longer the draft just drags out.
We do the same. Drafted last night and still had a couple guys complain it was too much time. We finished 15 rounds in right under two hours. It was perfect imo
@@StampingTheCall That’s excellent time! We were around the same, honestly we had one dude auto drafting which is what made it take longer.
@@shenandoahwildcat My family league Draft always has two or three people auto-drafting, and it drives me absolutely insane. Skip the soccer game, hand the kids to the wife for two hours and let's GO!
45 seconds in mine. Would do 30 seconds if allowed. If you're that indecisive, go take up knitting or crochet.
I did a fantasy draft once for a 8 team league. Started at 1:00 in the afternoon and it lasted 6 hours. On Labor Day and I had to be at work that night. After the first 3 weeks I was 0-3 and had scored the most points in the league. I finished one game back of the playoffs and was mostly just done with it. Never did Fantasy Football again.
We NEED a no time limit fantasy draft with rich eisen, that would be absolutely golden content
I'm in two twelve man leagues we draft back to back. We don't have time limit 2 keeper plus 14 rounds. We get both done in about 6 hours.
Maddening
We also draft on paper in person, no computers in front of us.
Sounds miserable
@foxfire1112 it comes out to just over 1 minute per pick. I'd say that is good time.
@@ezrahicks5235you said 6 hrs that math ain’t mathing
“Going to their friend's uncle's basement” is THE KEEPER! Keep that!
Too funny.
My brothers' father in-law would host an in person draft at their house for the family fantasy league. This would take about 7 or so hours as we would break in the middle for food. It was actually a lot of fun they go the kit with the draft board and all the players stickers. I could not imagine doing a draft that long online however.
8:55 “pre wings, mid lawn” LOL
Me and the guys go for 4-5 hours tops. It’s fun to make a day of it.
9 hours is crazy. My 12 man leagues last 2 hours max. I usually autodraft the last 2-3 bench spots cause we're usually drunk by then lol.
I’m the commissioner of a dynasty league and our start up began the day after the Super Bowl. 4 months later the final pick was made. 2 months later we did the rookie draft… 6 months of drafting.
I’m not doing something that long unless it’s a job I’m getting paid for.
@@crowtservo it’s not even a money league 😅
I've never been in a FF league. Been invited several times and have always said that I enjoy the game too much to participate. I can just watch football. Only downside is I have friends that still want to endlessly blather on about their FF team(s).
It’s fun when you have money involved with the boys.
"What an outrage". 🤣
I can’t imagine how no one gets into yelling matches or possibly throwing hands lol
Very fitting that the 9-hour Draft clip is 9 minutes long. Well done Rich.
I think the best Ep. I've ever heard of this show. Epic storytelling, dramatic reactions. So entertaining.
I need to see the team. I bet he has Herbert
😂😂😂 💀
My buddies and I also don’t have a timer when we draft….and yet it’s never taken more than 2 and half hours to complete. 9 hours?! What are you even thinking about at that point that makes you take 27 mins to decide on?!?!
My group of friends get too caught up talking and ripping bongs and smoking blunts so theyre all cooked by round 4...maybe four or five of us are sober for this draft and it goes 4 hours with two hours of pregaming.
@@garretttkolodziej2252 but that atleast sounds like an enjoyable time with your buddies, and to that then I don’t think it’s ever a problem to have a draft go that long! But this sounds more like a painful draft that isn’t enjoyable, and for someone to get hung up on a draft pick for longer then 2-3 mins seems stupid to me. Unless you are playing for serious serious money (1k+) then there should be no excuse for having a draft this long unless it’s more an excuse to hangout with all your buddies
I've done multiple slow drafts this year, and I'm a guy that prefers 60 seconds per pick lol. I understand the slow draft though, it teaches patience. Now for those live drafts that are held in person, take your time and have fun with the guys.
I prep my keepers. But other than that, the only prep I have in mind is having 1 or 2 "must drafts" per round. Guys I think are undervalued who if they are on the board in certain places, just become my pick. Other than that, the rest is gut feeling. Which teams play more rookies, which don't. Who has the better QB, who is running more.
My sister drafted for the first time this year. Unfortunately in was most of the league's first time to including the commish. She set their p8ck time to 18 hours worth no auto option! Their draft took 11 days! I almost died from anxiety and it wasn't even my draft.
The only time I’ve done a long draft was a dynasty startup draft, 25 rounds, everyone had 12 hours with the timer pausing during the night. The whole thing took two weeks, but it wasn’t non stop, people were able to make trades and take picks based on their work schedule
Yea I remember the first year of dynasty league, that draft took forever!. Maybe like 4 hours. Ten teams. 9 hrs is absurd
the bash at the beach reference cracked me
The problem is not KC, it’s you all allowing that one friend to plan this… that’s just a horrible planning job by a friend I would NEVER let plan anything lol no way would I agree to going for that
Nah KC is the problem lol
My buddy has 24 players in his league and it takes a week basically to finish. And it’s not even snake.
9 hours for one draft is crazy, it should take 3 hours max
F****** football is already hell on earth. Watching a game and a friend goes " I have him on my f****** team" . Thanks, good for you, I use the top hat in monopoly now can we talk about the REAL game?
😂
Love that, i'm gonna steal it, but thanks! 😹
You must be fun at parties lol
I started a keeper league this year we are on day 4 of our draft and we are only in the fifth round of 29 rounds. Some people are taking a full 8 hours to pick
I guess it's just me but spending 9 hours with my best friends doing fantasy draft sounds like the best time of my life. Provided there's food and alcohol of course.
If Brockman's friend lived an hour drive in Kansas, his friend does not live in the KC metro area. Lawrence, Kansas is a 40 minute drive in I-70. His buddy might have lived in Topeka, KS being that's just under an hour drive away on I-70. He might be flying into KC International Airport, but if he's driving an hour into KS, he's not in the KC metro area. Unless it was traffic. Olathe to the airport is under 40 minutes and that's about as south as the metro area goes.
I’ve got a draft, Dynasty Superflex 10team league that has 31 rounds and 8hrs clock per pick that has just been going on for a week and we’re nowhere near done here. I’m just hoping we make it before football season
9 hours are rookie numbers. I was just in a dynasty startup draft and it took over a month to finish. The timer was 8 hours per pick for 25 rounds
Our keeper league is worse than that. 3 round rookie draft, 12 hours per pick...just mind numbing ..horrible. Some guys take a minute and we rally thru a few picks and then we hit some stopper who isn't on-line. I'm working tonight guys. See you in 8 hours.
Me and my boys had 2 and half mins one year and people were about to go crazy
Currently on hour 56 of a draft with 12 hour pick timer
That's crazy! Gotta have a time limit.
I’m at the point in my life where I can hang out in one spot with my friends for 6 hours tops, after that it’s time to change venues or I’m going home 😂
I have picks planned rounds ahead. How does this take long?
Three things.
1.) it’s a slow draft format and somebody forgets to make their pick
2.) A nerd crunching numbers and using spreadsheets to make the perfect pick
3.) Somebody just took the player they were planning the pick before and they shat themselves.
Sorry the Buffalo Bill joke made me pop. I love it. One of my staple college jokes.
Brockman being the only non Bills fan to attend Syracuse university in its entire history is also something he would do.
Before watching it... if theres no beer then yes it is
Wait so does Brockman go to the city of the winning SB for the draft, or the winner of the league's home city? He mentioned going to Boston when the Pats win, or LA the year the Rams lost. But why would you go to the SB winning city if none of Brockman's friends live there?
I have the 1.1 and 1.2 in my leagues this year. Those pics will take a combined 2 seconds. Move this along boys, nothing worse than first round picks that take the full time
12 team dynasty league rookie draft, 5 rounds, takes about 2 days across 5 time zones. 10 team redraft? Done in an hour
We did a s-l-o-w rookie draft in my dynasty league. It took 4 days 😚
With 20 years of experience in fake football, I can confidently say the better I feel about my draft, the crappier the season ends up.
Dynasty leagues are the worse offenders of this 😂
I run 45 second drafts in my Dynasty leagues. Let's go, move it. If you're in a Dynasty or Keeper league, you should know what you're doing. Make a decision & do it quick or go play redraft with the noobs. LOL. No patience for being indecisive. I've been in month-long email drafts with 24 hour pick clocks & ppl still go over the time limit - never again - if you are so selfish to take more than 24 hours to pick when you know others are waiting on you, then I'm not playing with you. Eff off, lol.
Im in a 12-man and a 8-man. I’ve never been in a draft longer than an hour and a half
Who's more dangerous with prep time? Batman or Chris Brockman?
imagine your team mascot being an orange.....
This Is why I can't anymore. 😂
I had friend that had open spot in a league, first year it was old school draftboard, then commish imputed it all in yahoo. In the later rounds when kicker and defense go everyone took forever on nobody’s and I was so pissed… lucky since they had draft thru app and hell no I haven’t gone haha
This is absolutely ridiculous 😂😂😂 you need to put your foot down
Some people take fantasy football way too seriously.
Rich, I am so sorry you get as much information that you don't need to prepare for your drafts lol. I have won(or been in the top 3) of every fantasy draft I've been a part of(6). I have had to prep hardcore in order to come up with the best options to win(not just "pick the top 4 other players) 😒. I believe that if someone TRULY wants to win, they need to know all sorts of senerios to succeed.
Why would you want to go to Kansas city? Is there stuff there?
BBQ & home of the defending champs. Otherwise not a whole lot going on.
Auction or snake? 9 hours is too long if 4 -5 hours of that is not breaks & eating. I mean, all real drafts have time limits - why wouldn't a fantasy have one. My auction draft takes about 3-4 hours total - with breaks - even when we were all in the same room. 90 seconds on the clock and it resets to 10 secs after any bid under 10 sec. Sounds like no one is prepares beforehand and uses the time figure out what to do.
Brockman seems like the kind of guy that would have a 9 hour draft.....probably the only time he can get people to hang out with him
what does this even mean? did you miss the part where I didn't go? -Brockman
No, what is hell on Earth is a slow draft of 8hrs per pick that stretched out for 2 weeks.
The rap references go shooo
🛫👴🛬 over their head
Do they put lotion on their skin 😂
Is this real? 9 hours?!
Damn Brockman using his bully pulpit to air his league grievances like it's festivus.
I bet that’s an amazing man cave
My prep was 6 hrs on Sunday
I had a draft last a week because the commissioner gave everyone 6 hrs to pick with 30 rounds
You still going? Lol
See you in October pal
If it's more than an hour, Im out!
Three minutes for the first round, two for the second, one minute for rounds 3 - 12. Get done and get out.
That sounds miserable. 3 hours tops.
Send me the address please! Would love to see y'all in person
Anyone believe Brochman mows his own lawn?
Absolutely not
what an insane thing to say. -Brockman
Bro what
If you are in person, 4 hours max and that includes an intermission

Never met a Syracuse alum who wasn’t a Bills fan in my entire life. Of course Brockman would be the first one.
Fantasy football is for losers. Also, should I sit Chase this weekend?
Why am I not surprised the worst fantasy league in the history of the world belongs to Chris Brockman
it's not MY league, I'm merely in it. if I were the commissioner we wouldn't do a majority of the dumb stuff we do. -Brockman
😂
Hell is having no where to live and have nothing to eat.
Hyperbole is an exaggerated statement not meant to be taken seriously
@@EntreePotato That was not delineated in their statement.
This is all just, dumb.
