I think (and keep in mind, this is a personal interperatation) That this song illustrates how he tried christianity, "I fixd myself up nice..." and was left out "but you never came." Possibly he was misslead by overbearing christians? Perhaps it's just written to see people boggle over just what it means. None the less, he is amazing, and full of talent none can compare.
Well as great as putting your theory knowledge to work is, you should understand that not every song is built with the intention of creating an inspiring and technical display of notes. In this song's case its more about telling the listener a story, using a feel that can further immerse you into the mood of the main character.
Definitely my favorite off on letting go. If you guys like this, then you might enjoy the song I posted on my channel, though it is a lot heavier. Let me know what you think :)
@Einsz0r did you know that anthony was raised in a strictly catholic household and went to an all boys catholic school? and that religion was one of the few subjects he was actually interested in? and in my opinion the world would be in chaos without religion, even more than now with the arabs and jews, because without religion, many people would not have the good morals that religion gave them...it's important.
Being a christian has nothing to do with this song. I mean it's about having faith. " I fixed myself up nice but you never came " I think it's like he got clean 'cause I heared he did a lot of coke. So he got sober and cleaned up his act but doesn't feel like it wasn't recognized. and he saying he'll wait to see if God will be there but he'll die before he ever knew the whole truth. " I fixed myself up nice but you never came. " " I hope that it's worth it but I'll never know "
dude if you were with me at the concert i saw them at he HAD to be high on somthing he was acting to weird, he was sweating like a mother and constantly rubbing his hair back he took the neck of his shirt and stretched it down to his belly button, and half the time he dident sing he just danced
I realize this, and there are also a lot of great things that have come from religion. I know that it's his opinion. It's like an Atheist listening to Christian rock, likes the song, hates the lyrics.
well, to be positive, at least they are going beyond the usual pop harmonies we are used to hearing, inserting mode mixture and certain modulation techniques as well. however, it IS some very safe playing and i know these guys could do something more rhythmically active and flavorful. in their defense, they were probably aiming for that dreamy, melancholic feel that often works so well for circa, in this case...it's just plain boring, uninspiring rhythm playing. poor anthony has to sing over it.
@Einsz0r thats kind of an ignorant thing to say. guns are bad. computers are bad. credit cards are bad. money is bad. medicine is bad. is it the thing itself or what is done with it?
@arktek Hey, im not religious either but i defenitely don't think that it's bad,, some people need religion and the fear of god to live a better life.... just my opinion
Cool story bro. But why did you explode over a simple analysis? P.S. I prefer "powerful and almighty SeventhMind" as apposed to just almighty. Thanks in advance and don't make the mistake again. War, Slavery, Strength -SeventhMind
this is my favorite circa survive song. it just has an overall aesthetic/harmoneous beauty to it
Anthony Green is so awsome.
I love him both by himself without Circa and when he's with Circa Survive.
He's my obsession right now.
I think

Yea, he is!
And the glasses just add to his cuteness.

People giving you thumbs down gives a very good example of blind fanatism.
i love how at the end he's all fidgety, it's adorable.
it's a little to hard not to fall in love with circa survive...[mainly anthony...]
I wish i could see them live! ):
Definitely my favorite off on letting go. If you guys like this, then you might enjoy the song I posted on my channel, though it is a lot heavier. Let me know what you think :)

But yeah, otherwise he looks weird singing like that.
He rocks.

i just liked the genre of saosin better
but after he left saosin, it became just another post-hardcore band

um..that's how he is..
Huh, I expected the lead singer to be a girl. Regardless, great vocalist. Hits the falsettos well good.
The whole CD is about losing faith.

lol it was a statement not a reference.

Thanks man means alot im gonna sub you back
Well he's said he's an atheist, Honestly, the only reason I listen to this song because of the tune, the lyrics piss me off.
Haha
so he's not an atheist.?
not anthony's best performance :/
you have no idea..
Cool story bro.
But why did you explode over a simple analysis?
P.S. I prefer "powerful and almighty SeventhMind" as apposed to just almighty. Thanks in advance and don't make the mistake again.
War, Slavery, Strength

Syd Barrett, do your research bro,....word
its sad how he use's coke
Yikes...this was painful to watch. They shouldn't do acoustic sets if Anthony can't sing live.
with ya brother. that is some lame playing. like they're scared to mess up so they play safe...
haaha the best lolx every singer has its pros and cons
everyone has their special ability
and hes not a even a good guitar player
Yeah, it's pretty annoying in this song too, it's pretty much blatantly bad-mouthing theistic religions.
horrible
