1:55 Seungmin also has Wonpil on speed-dial (so to speak)... 😜And Chan and Young K were roommates way back...
2:20 Seungmin's covered Zombie twice, with Han on SKZ-RECORD (ruclips.net/video/aKn7DbCnn8k/видео.html), and with Chan at KCON:TACT HI5 (because Han was... ill, I think? and Chan quickly learned the song to help out ruclips.net/video/wSeoPXNtfGk/видео.html).
5:50 Fun fact: the main character in this (and You Were Beautiful) is played by Choi Woo-shik, who was one of the lead actors in Parasite.
23:15 If you want to hear more of Jae, he's now on his own recording as eaJ. I _could_ just link you to his channel, but instead, here's a video of "It Just Is", which he co-wrote and sang with Seori, who _also_ deserves to be on your radar; I think you'll like her too... ruclips.net/video/vVM1junNWtc/видео.html
26:45 Funnily enough, that slight roughness that Sungjin has in his voice is actually put on... he _trained_ to be able to do that to give it that "rock" edge! He naturally has a much smoother tone...
One thing you haven't seen yet is maknae drummer Dowoon's vocals. For the longest time, he'd occasionally get a line (which would be a feature; see Wanna Go Back ruclips.net/video/pApQcTDqVcI/видео.html), or he'd sing in a novelty setting where they'd switch parts with each other ("I Loved You" swapped: ruclips.net/video/qfLMez5v8vM/видео.html). And although he didn't have any vocal training and it showed, it was clear he had a gorgeous deep tone, and eventually (to especially Young K's delight; you could always see his proud mum face when Dowoon sang), he decided to take up vocal training!
And this right here was the big reveal: "Out Of the Blue", co-written and performed with Song Heejin: ruclips.net/video/QQPjzJnY4-k/видео.html !
I saw Day6 live in London in January 2020; they were actually the last concert I went to before everything shut down. And they were _rather good._

Love seeing you enjoying their music!!! this is a fact already but they have such a good music, so i think that you are going to enjoy most of it! And yes!! Seungmin is a big myday (day6 fan), also yoohyeon from dreamcatcher too, and also half of the korean industry 😭
Also nice to see you joining the wonpil lover club (the keyboard guy) he doesn't only have a nice voice but is also one of the sweetest human beings, can't wait for you to also dive into their personalities!
Definitely subscribing, i enjoy your reactions a lot! ^^

yes its the same guy! Wonpil is his name and you're right, he has a wonderfully bright and clear voice that translates emotions in music realllly well. hes had some solo performances that are mostly ballads and even though I dont often lile ballads I swear i cried when I listened to them.

and yr def right about the repetition and hollowness of zombie's composition being on purpose. day6 is known to be pretty heavy handed with text painting and matching the composition to the lyrics/subject. for their song day and night in this same mini album theres a line where they sing "I go up and you go down" and the notes follow this rollercoaster up and down curve to match what theyre singing about. day6 have some techniques they always fall back on and its become indicitive of their style since they also compose their music themselves

ahhh good to know!! I love how they play with their sound like that it makes the composition feel so much more purposeful

I really love Day6, sadly they aren't active presently because two of them are doing their military service and Jae left the group permanently. The remaining four renewed their contracts with JYP so they'll be back in about another year. The keyboard guy is Wonpil who along with Young K (bass player) did most of the songwriting for Day 6. Zombie is really a commentary on the mood in the band at that time. Just before the album was released the band went on hiatus to deal with mental health issues and did not promote the song or the album. It's the perfect example of a typical Kpop agency that, while not abusive, doesn't really pay attention to their artist's stress levels. Compare that to Dreamcatcher who are healthy and happy because their company takes good care of them. Dreamcatcher, espcecially
Yoohyeon, are also big fans of Day 6.

There are THREE members in the military right now, Young K, Wonpil & Dowoon.
Sungjin finished his service fairly recently though.

Please react to “The book of us: Entropy” album. Please listen to the songs in order. They experimented with their sound on this album.

In terms of music, DAY6 is definitely one of the best.💯 One could be listening to all (yes, all) of their albums over and over and still get awed by just how talented they are!

I don't think you're reading too much into it at all. Day 6 is a very smart band. The water symbolizes tears. In my suggestions from your last reaction I forgot two of my favorites--Best Part and I'm Serious.
Thanks for your excitement. It's so fun to watch.

I love your comment on Zombie the most, especially that part about how you might expect the song to explode but it doesn't and that maybe it symbolizes the message as well. Because DAY6 is well-known for being really good at text-painting, how the lyrics and the arrangements of all their songs are very intentional.
Young K and Wonpil (the lyricists for Zombie) mentioned that they wanted to write a song about the repetitiveness of life, being tired of routines. And that one of the inspirations was when they were in a car looking out at people crossing the streets. To me, it's also interesting that even to the end of the song there's no hopeful lyric. Just that life is repetitive and tiring and it feels like a cycle. They said that they basically just wanted to write a song that sends a message that people who feel this way are not alone. And to me, that's the most comforting part of this song.
Sorry for the super long comments LOL

There's an English version of 'Congratulations' that's just as good as the original. Their english is pretty good.

Well, Brian is fluent, and Jae (who's not with the band anymore, but was) is a native speaker. 🙂

It would be really cool to try watching their live clips parallel to the MVs! They have a few official concert clips on their chanel. They're REALLY the best performing live.
Thank you for this! Really miss DAY6 and it's nice to watch a good reaction to them like I'm watching with a friend!
And yes DAY6 writes all of their songs. Mydays (the fandom) have been begging for behind content of their process especially since they have A LOT (in 2017 they releasd 2 songs/month), sadly, though there's not much. They have a few content of them talking about their songs, how they write it, but mostly short ones. Most of the info we know of how they write their songs they talk about in different interviews, videos, etc. Hehe

If you watch Chan's Room regularly, then you've probably several of these before. Lol

unfortunately chan's room isn't something I can get to regularly because of being full time with school and work, but maybe I'll go back and have a listen to him talk about these! I do love when he gushes about artists he likes :]
