Siegfried's ether, to my knowledge, was too powerful for an ordinary vessel, and so when the guy who revived Siegfried (forgot his name) did so, he attempted to circumvent it by putting Siegfried's ether into the sword he wielded. However, Sieg was simply too powerful to be controlled, and so his body literally took the sword and cut down the man who revived him without any mercy. The ensuing conversation elaborates that if someone gets close, his body will more or less instinctively swing the sword to protect itself.
