I’m glad that 7 years after starting to post videos on Central City, from my small but cozy and welcoming house in the rainy, cold and windy weather of the countryside of Northern France, I’ve finally visited all the metros in France. I hope you will enjoy this video as much as I liked making it. Personally, Lille Metro and its VAL trains will always have a special place in my heart as being one of the first metro systems I rode, and one of the closest from my childhood house. How about you ? What’s the French metro system that gets a special rating in your heart? Let me know in the comments 😉
@@central-city honestly the most interesting one is toulouse because they are centralized about getting new lines to dessert certain neighborhood, and they didn't take the risk to choose alstom to upgrade their Train. They just sticked 2 train togheter and builded more longer stations, bassicaly the most simple way.
The RER in Paris is fully grade-separated, it has average speeds of 30-60km/h and, in sections, it has metro-like frequencies, and it spans all day, so the service is at metro standard. That would be line A from Nanterre-Préfecture to Vincennes, line B and D common trunk, line E from the new terminus at Nanterre la Folie to Noisy-le-Sec, and line C from Paris to Brétigny.
If we put Paris/RATP aside (too big, too complex, too diverse to be compared to anything else in France), I would make the following ranking: - Most reliable system : Toulouse line A and B (VAL206 and 208) - Best looking rolling stock : Lyon line B MPL16 (Alstom) - runner up: Rennes line B NeoVAL (Siemens) - Most impressive stations : Rennes line B Tisséo in Toulouse puts a lot of effort into maximising the use of their existing infrastructures (frequent trains, late service at night during the week-end and very short reaction time from the technicians when a line breaks down). On top of this they are building line C and extending line B which is great. Rennes also has a very complete system. It’s a shame that line B experienced severe reliability issues this year because otherwise the stations are stunning, and the NeoVAL rolling stocks are great (beside the high levels of vibrations) being fast, responsive, with a nice interior layout and large doors.
In effect line B got severe issues lately, i hope they will be corrected in the future, And yes you're right toulouse is building a line C that passes through the suburb of toulouse and the future Central Business district of toulouse Matabiau, resulting in connexion with The tram T1 and the airport shuttle at Jean Maga, The station La Vache with line B, the station Marengo SNCF (in the future Matabiau Gare) with line A, again line B at INPT (or labege Madron) The design of the Toulouse line C train are quite similar to the MPL16 but its in Rails. They are both the same size execpt for the width which the MPL16 is a bit larger, but both of them surpass the MP14 in width and in lenght (because they can be configurated 9 Cars), the MPL16 have a speed of 80Km/h and for toulouse its still unknown since its still being in construction before being tested in Alstom center in valenciennes, maybe could be a 100Km/h, Toulouse line C have a travel time of 30min or more (because it have a lenght of 27km with sharp turns) Lyon line B have a travel time of 19min (line B mesurating 10,2km) For the cityval they are operated with the Urbalis 900 or 800 CBTC system which makes them responsive, they indeed have large doors almost as large as the MR6V, they have stunning station but lets wait in the future and see what the Line C station looks like, must be a great competition.
Nice, I can't wait for next year when the MF19 will start to arrive on line 10, same for the new trains on the Marseille metro, and also line 15! This video will already be outdated..

It is debatable but Orlyval and the airport people movers could be considered to be metro as well. :-)
They are what they are : airport people mover
I like all Paris metro lines
Wait, Why does it sounds like an MP14 of Paris? 2:25
Similar technology, built by Alstom too, and of course the fact that it's rubber tyred also makes the train sounds similar.
Same material, productor, and Rubber tyred
The MPL 16 and the MP 14 have the same motors and VVVFs, because it was built by Alstom.
I've been on Paris lines 1,6,12 before and rer B,C i think

and hopefully, the new 52 meters trains for Lille
Mdddr 🤣
T u GRAND MALADE mec/men mais bon

@@central-citywhere is the grandParisExpress
@@central-cityretry shanghai metro all the lines like line 14 15 and 18
