A bunch of stunning helmet cam videos from Ukraine shows Ukrainian forces storm a Russian held village filmed mostly from the helemt cam of a humvee machine gunner.
It was not disclosed were and when exactly this video was recorded so we can only talk about what we see. (UPDATE LOCATION WAS LOCATED: / 1 )
This video is cut together from three different videos from different sources that however seem to show the same event from different perspectives.
The first part is filmed by the gunner of the lead vehicle of a Ukrainian humvee column as it advances to the outskirts of a unamed Russian held village.
The gunner who is clearly a english speaking person lays down a lot of suppression fire on to expected Russian positions to cover the advance.
He also blast several buildings with AT4 launchers in between.
The second part shows the same event but this time from the inside of the humvee.
The last part shows infantry getting in to contact in what looks like the same area.
Now what can we get from this:
1. If this video is recent there is a high possibility this was from a operation in Kharkiv. Kherson could also be possible.
2. The gunner is most likely a American so Ukrainian Foreign Legion fighters participated in the mission.
3. Russian got caugh by suprise and where overwhelmed by the Ukrainian push.

The first video was of an American gunner, speaking English and no accent, the gunner on the second video also speaking English while driver or passenger was talking in a Russian accent.

I would say one of the biggest downsides of being a foreign Legion is getting stuck with people who don’t know your language.

Good on him for keeping a level head.

Same clip too i think.

You are right. The second part of the video appears to show the same battle episode from the vehicle driver/commander prospective. We can also hear the commander complaining about the vehicle being under fire with a bullet hitting the windscreen. Wild footage.
You can also hear the gunner screaming ammo in the background in the second video

As a former gunner for a humvee, that gunner was on point. The driver definitely should have pulled back when he was reloading though. None the less, great job by the gunner

The first footage's sound makes the 50 cal sound so odd. Funny how digital recordings can change the sound. The second video sounds more as I remembered it.
They altered the sound to disguise the voices
@@BGraves and to not blast your ears out.
it's because the microphones used in gopros cant capture sounds that loud so it's heavily distorted.
@@LouSaydus Perhaps the GoPro was older and had one of those waterproof cases that block a lot of sound. I got a similar action cam which results in similar sound.
Most mics absolutely cannot handle the peak Db that guns put out. almost every show on YT that handles guns has special mics OR special placement of mics to capture a closer* true nature of the guns sound. Microphones a lot of the time can handle RMS or average high volume but not that nasty high impact peak waveform. That's just one side of how we hear things, the capturing. Digital compression also hinders but more importantly is the through quality from capture to listen. And most of us are listening on shitty phone speakers that wouldn't handle the true nature of a 50 cal either. That being said a proper captured kick drum or something will transfer to a shitty speaker better than the reverse. Sorry for nerding out, cheers :P

I couldn't imagine fighting a war where everyone on your side speaks different languages. I'm certain the people in the truck didn't speak english well if at all. But good on the gunner to react well to the situation and even improvise to the rockets lol. You could hear the rounds hitting the vehicle so this dude was insanely calm given the circumstances. Can't lie i knew that shit was going to not feed with the way he looped the rounds over but i know in that situation he just wanted to get rounds out to make the russians take cover long enough for him to fix it. Made me pucker a bit though.
You'd think it would be easier today than ever, just pull up Google translate. Of course, not in the middle of combat lol but you know what I mean
but i mean, whats your job when you sit in the backseat of the vehicle. you just give ammo to the gunner. when you give him one box, start preparing the next one. when you hear him stop firing, pass the next one. no language needed. but this is my civilian, keyboard warrior ass speaking
@@TheTpointer Haha you have a point, i was in the navy so i never sat in a humv so i can't say with any more knowledge than you what they do, and i don't have an army friend who has talked about it, but i can imagine that would be a massive part of their job. Like with stress of combat i get being slow or bumbling, but not knowing what he's asking for? Lol kinda weird.
They probably learned some simple commands and call outs but not enough to carry a conversation

Textbook. This is so professionally done.
The whole ammo mixup in the gun truck is exactly the reason why it's important for foreign legion guys to learn basic essential commands in Ukrainian/Russian beforehand and conduct team drills using those commands.
There's a reason why troops in the French Foreign Legion are required to learn phrases in French and why Spanish Foreign Legion troops learn phrases in Spanish.
Even if foreign legion soldiers all speak different languages, they need to communicate in a common (host country) language that will also help them communicate with adjacent host country units
or just do it like the literal rest of the world and learn english. appearently 50% of all Ukrainians can speak english and english is mandatory in school
dude just had bad luck getting stuck with a guy who didn't even know what ammo or rocket meant
@@JOhnDoe-nl4wj If you're going to a war in a non english speaking country (50% english speaking population is low asf) then it should be obvious you're gonna need to learn the native language.
Just learn English
@@JOhnDoe-nl4wj English may be mandatory, but most Ukrainians never or hardly speak it anymore after they got it taught. It was the main reason I had nearly got on a train with family of the Ukrainian friend who invited me to her country after meeting her in my country (The Netherlands), as her sister was a teacher at the local school. As I was far more profound in English, her sister said it was a great opportunity for the kids at school to practice their English.
Sadly, tickets for the train were not available anymore, so I couldn't go with them.
And the differences are sometimes just plain weird: when I walked into a drugstore to get some plasters, there was a very young woman, somewhere in her twenties behind the counter. But when I gave it my best effort at Ukrainian and eventually resort to English, her eyes grew big and scared. She started to wave to her co-worker, a far older woman, to help her, as she didn't speak English. And yes, the English of her co-worker was basic, but we got there in the end. Same with some of the restaurants: the young staff could hardly speak English, but when I would get to the ticket-window of a museum, were a VERY elderly person would be handing out the tickets, I could get an almost fluent English response.
I completely second everyone though that it's best to learn some basic lingo. It will also break the ice with your fellow brothers in arms if you at least try in less stressful situations, that was at least my experience (and especially when you (apparently) get so good at 'good day' in Ukrainian that they start to reply in Ukrainian, you know you are getting somewhere)
@@weeardguy Yep. French is taught in all secondary British schools, but how many Brits know more than a handful of phrases in the language? Most people who do speak another language only learn one additional tongue, and most Ukrainians have chosen Russian for practicality. That will likely switch to English in the coming decades as all remaining cultural and political ties with Russia have now been completely destroyed forever.

Another commentator hypothesised that perhaps the Kharkiv offensive could be one of 2 things (in his opinion):
1 - Spoiler attacks or probes that got more traction than expected, due to excessive pulls from Russia to defend Kherson
2 - Perhaps also an integral part of the main attack, actually related to Kherson. Publicize Kherson attack & make obvious moves for it (bridges bombing, mass troops south). But concurrently in the North, discretly prepare much smaller # of troops (easier to hide from russian intell), but elite/experienced ones.
If this is Kharkiv, #2 starts to make sense. Seems these guys are experienced and pretty confident overall.
The fact they didn’t get hit with an RPG while they were fucking around with AT-4s being unable to suppress is insane.
The operation was a raid to take out a BTR they had spotted in the village, but it wasn't there. His guys in the cab were drilled to give him the At4 as soon as possible to avoid the BTR killing them, so they gave him that instead of the machine gun ammo by mistake
The second fighter from the right 1:20 "Что дать?" - "What to give?" that's funny ))
Interestingly, how did it happen that in the 7th month of the war, the positions of "2 army of the world threatening the US and NATO" were broken through 50 km in 1 day, and the Ukrainian army liberated 400 square km?
Easy.

I think this man may be one of the many foreign Legion volunteers that have been assisting the Ukrainian military by the sounds of it he is one of the volunteers from eather America or Canada
I'd have to agree. Definitely a North American native English speaker.

I remember seeing this video with commentary some where but i can't find it now. I thought it was civ div but i guess not. He saved the first tube for training. It was a communication error mixed with a little panic. The POV was the most experienced one there. Apparently he started to panic too because the vehicle was not suppose to stop moving because that invites return RPG. He thinks he got ammo just in time to stop a russian from firing a rpg at them.

The ones in Karkiv are People's Militia, not Russian regulars. Latest word is that they pulled back to the river to wait for Russian re-enforcements. 3rd Army Core has been formed and is heading somewhere around Donetsk and some may be re-routed to deal with this Northern counter attack.
Since this area is outside of Donbass region, they are not really losing ground by pulling back. Taking ground outside of Donbas is not their goal. Destroying military and Nazi groups is.
