Original MacKenzie-Childs decorating Perspective” (you might have missed this Most Powerful punch!)

  • This cameo is important to show, unadorned with the stage of the theatre.
Here Victoria explores here own thoughts, awkwardly, honestly,
-earnestly to undue what she saw coming, many years ago as MacKenzie-Childs grew to Movement proportions.
She held to the purity of the message, but the physical pursuit of it often left folks lost in a pattern & the platitudes of a constant variation of a “Jones Act”.
It broke her heart as it became sold, and then sported as prominent possession instead of the humble unglorified catalyst within the heart of home and family, Heaven & earth, un-pompus circumstance, surprise and delight of the unknowableness of momentary adventure.
Here you will see her exploring just the fringe of a liberation in thought, but yet, still so charmingly grateful for the ongoing grace of the initial impetus of their works, -seeing, as she knows collectors today, (as folks of great spiritual substance), and clear as to their worth in the archival pursuit and the curatorial eye for the first glimpses of what has and is adjusting thought … still and in earnest!
This reappearance is an epoch moment together, -alone on RUclips.

I love this. I come from a rural, country background, but at 75 years of age, I'm now in the city. I miss the wide open spaces, but there's no going back, so I, with the help of my husband, have transformed our back yard into a garden and I love it. Three hens named Patsy. Gertrude and Milly, and enough food to feed us and our neighbors, and I have found contentment. Thank you, Victoria, for sharing your positive thoughts and outlook with us.

Some people don't have style...just like some people don't have rhythm. We all need mentors in whatever thing we are lacking and then we can grow and be better! Always strive to grow and be better! That's what makes life worth living. "Stuck" is no fun or rewarding place to be.
Your God given talents and style, inspire people, bring them joy and influence their lives. You are truly blessed Dear One, and lucky are we who receive that blessing.
    Love you!💕

I remember in the wake of Martha Stewart there were all these people who were trying to mimic influencers in fashion and decor and crumbling under the pressure. Marketing is powerful stuff. Oh to be thinner! To have the branded look of what is on trend. Oh! If I could find a way to afford a style... Want! Want! Want!
I think sometimes with age you find you have honed your individual style perspective from the aftermath of so many influences that have provided treasure and an aesthetic that transends date and time and informs our timeless aesthetic of who we are in our heart. An education...
You inspire me with the way you find beauty in found objects and art in the humble items at hand that touch the heart. You offer permission by example to create homage to a life well lived in appreciation and artfuful pursuits that have no price to ponder.
To reference a vintage tune, 🎼🎵🎶 "I get a kick out of you..."🎶🎵
    Thank you.

Hello Victoria! Love this chat - so true about embracing what you have and live and enjoy your life where you are at the present time. I was blessed last evening by a friend taking me to see her friends property up on a mountain with the most spectacular view of the sunset and we got to play with all her farm animals. Thank you Victoria! In this video you expressed (wonderfully!) what I have felt for a long time but never put words to. Now I have the words. I never liked to think of “decorating” our home either! That always sounded a little like trying too hard to make things measure up to someone else’s standard. Whose?-I don’t know. I love replacing “decorating a home” with “embracing a home.” I will be sharing your words (which mirror my own thinking and actions) with our grown grandchildren-credit goes to you. My husband and I had younger-life plans which didn’t work out so we made different plans. We’re good with what is and where we are because we made a choice to be happy, never mind the details. We have many items from MacKenzie-Childs in our home (courtly check is my favorite pattern) and they blend with everything else perfectly! No worry about “matching” because blending is so much more interesting. I love to watch your channel and appreciate your forthrightness. All the best to you and Richard.

Hi Elizabeth, wow, how refreshingly individual your natural take on our discussion. I feel so refreshed! And in the end, you said something about blending being more “interesting” than matching, is that right?
Above here, in one other exchange, a person used the word “Interesting” and I responded. I hope you can see it from where you stand. (It was a comment about the FLORB video, a short comment. But the word “interesting“ is very important to me. I hope you can find the comment and my response.

I have been struggling of late, with our RUclips performance, there are so few people and the growth is not enough to subsist on. More than that, though, it feels like there is something in the work which is not meeting the larger human need, which I feel is what would help us ALL to grow in leaps and bounds … to lift this trouble round us up to liberation.
When you wrote, I heard a wee thought of hope telling me not to fade away it to keep selflessly at it. It is very important, what you said and the timing of when I read it. Thank you so much, Nancy

When money isn’t available, I find, creativity comes through much stronger & becomes a much more impressive statement piece. We’ve been renovating a house over 100 years old for over 20 years now. It started out as a labor of love… It is now, just a labor!😂😂😂
We’re buying supplies and materials as we get the money because we do not want to go in debt. We have found a lot of things that we wish to purchase are just not in the budget, therefore we improvise with less expensive things and fix them up to look the way we want them to look… in my humble opinion, Creativity is far better than money in cases like this because you end up with one of a kind items in your home. 🤩

    • @victoriamackenzie-childs7215
      @victoriamackenzie-childs7215  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Reba,
What a wonderful demonstration of supply!
I find, since we are not near much to buy, we are not tempted to wish for, nor to think of … a solution as second best, or a close assemblance to what we may have once seen.
Being of such a habit of resourcefulness, it does not even occur to me to Look for or wish for or, indeed, even to NEED anyTHING. I find that, even things I didn’t even see before my eyes, prior to a need … even … nor SEEING that There IS a need, all becomes apparent before me as a need already fulfilled. Living in Spirit rather than the tug of matter not only lightens our burdens, but makes us truly enjoy what we are within here and now.
Something which many folks think we should distain is “money”. We blame money. We think someone who has money might even be bad. Maybe! But what are our assumptions based upon? Why? Money cannot do anything either good nor bad. It is a tool when needed but it cannot take away (it has no voice) one morsel of creativity.
I know many very resourceful people who happen to be materialistically rich people but I often find the ones that have come into my experience are playful, easy going, resourceful and humbly open to all kinds of things. “Money is NOT the root of all evil”. If it comes to us through honest means, how can we ever blame it for a lack of creativity?
I know how you felt when you got worn out by your labor. I felt that with Yankee Ferry. Then I kept finding when I woke up in the morning or when I stopped in awe of something so wonderful right in the middle of my day, that I do not need to long for anything. I can see beauty in every single thing, whether I call it finished or not. There is beauty!
I began to stop making up, according to social standards, what my happiness depends upon.
Then, I also realized that to STRIVE for constantly seeing more goodness in our lives, … well, that should never, and never WILL STOP. Striving! Striving, why that is a MUST IF WE ARE STRIVING to see beauty in holiness. Then having money in our pockets or not, does not have affect. Matter, in whatever form, can be seen as a reflection of our thought. It has no power to give or to take.
Ultimately, we want to sell all that we have and give to the poor in order to lighten our load of care & follow the Christ idea we know, eh?
Well, I just had to make this response because of the common thought that money will take away our creativity. Only the out of proportion love of money brings a sense of lack when there is no lack! Conversely, the praise of poverty -it has NO good effect. That is a false view of Christianity where we know that all our needs are met abundantly. But we cannot create, nor choose willfully which way is a gift from God. God knows nothing of money NOR the lack thereof. God knows only overflowing abundance, if we accept the source as from Heaven (Heaven on EARTH, even …. and NOT some place or thing in the future, out of reach or never)!
“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”
Jesus gave this practical statement. It is not figurative but real, and Now!
Communism / socialism (same thing) tries to take away all the freedoms we enjoy here and now so that we become even more afraid and more dependent upon their definition and course of scant supply. This crushes the possibility of infinite freedom of thought and activity, I feel. Many Churches versions of the infinity of Christ are highly influenced by the Catholic, communist ideals. They want to take away, even the core of Christianity straight by the Master by subliminally teaching that we can never attain, nor sustain what Jesus (the most Christian man ever) has spent his whole mission teaching and DEMONSTRATING, that we should go and “do likewise”.
Well, that was a lot to say. I know you agree. It is just a cliché that folks blame money for everything. I see how you have seen more to it than that! You are an amazing example of resiliency, Spirit and abuntant fsr reaching Love. Thank you so much. And thank you for letting me use our own experiences to demonstrate the ultimate Truth, eh?
      Ahoy, Reba, and love, Victoria

You are so right. It isn’t money that’s evil, it’s the LOVE of money that’s evil! One should never love riches. They’re fickle & unpredictable.🥴 Mark & I enjoy being creative. We built together so many amazing things in our home & all because we didn’t have the financial means to buy what we want already made. We ended up loving what we made far more than the one we saw already made.😁 Example: if you want the large decorative stair rails for your home, it will cost you an arm and a leg… Maybe alone in a kidney🤪, However, Mark and I found some beautiful bed posts in a variety antique shop. They had 20 or more bed posts without the bed. We took those beds and made them our Stairwells. It turned out beautifully and they are one of the kind. We can’t post pictures here or I would send you a picture.😁 we did the same thing with our fireplace mantle. We built it piece by piece. There’s a lot to be said of building as you go… pay as you build. Debt is a joy & peace of mind killer. Do things that bring you joy & peace. Don’t let THINGS weigh you down. Money is never the problem. The LOVE OF MONEY will destroy your peace! 😍

    • @victoriamackenzie-childs7215
      @victoriamackenzie-childs7215  2 месяца назад +1

Lovely, Reba! I would love to see a photo of your stair well!
Ok, so i have one addendum:
The love of money can be harmful to our delight in discovery, right where we are. But we must never distain any form of help that comes to us. For HOW our needs and our Spiritual growth comes, is not a formula with one way only. Matter, no matter what or in what form, we must not trust, but also not live in tight fundamentalism.
Remember that story of a flood? A family was on their rooftop praying for God to save them, all different means and solutions came but they rejected them because they were waiting for a backward sense of what they thought God was like (coming down out of the sky). So they passed up folks who came in row boats or inner tubes to help them.
When, the storm engulfed them God said, “ i sent you a row boat, an inner tube, a raft, and many means. Why didn’t you accept them.”
The people had such a limited sense of a form of God that they “missed the boat”!
So we don’t ever want to lock ouraeves into a saying which is making us think that there is only one rigid way to have the joy of being creative. That would be like condemning folks who do have money but, yet ARE creative. Maybe they too know how to be creative with nothing, neither money NOR the lack there of can take this God-given grace from us. That is why i try not to become rigid in my opinions as long as they are not harmful to society.
The Communist leader in the new world “order”Klaus Schwab quoted in a big speech last year “you will own nothing and be happy”. This is what they are already working at … trying to own us all and lead us so we are “happy”? This has crept into the Christian Churches, it creeps everywhere. It isn’t t what Jesus taught at all. He taught that God is our supply but he would never have judged all the myriad ways our needs are met. It is up to us to keep our thought pure, childlike and non judgmental about the possibilities before us. Creativity is not locked into a state of depravity. It comes in abundance … more than we accept!
I know you agree, Reba. It’s just that people give these catch phrases. However, “We must try the spirits, whether they be of God”
Much love, and thank you for this opportunity to share together.

      @victoriamackenzie-childs7215  3 года назад +1

Wow, William! What fun you are having with your archives! It reminds me of the museum in Taipei. When the Chinese felt China during the Cultural Revolution they took everything they could of the history of China because the the communist government was trying to distort history and rob the people of their past so as to form a people only to work and not to have their own thoughts and culture. So in Taiwan they have thousands of years worth of history in underground archives and if they changed the exhibitions in the museum every day it would take two hundred years worth of displays to share.
      Isn’t that wonderful?
China is still trying to bomb Taiwan and take the people from their cultures, but they are determined and they shall somehow be protected. Now, with the power of China in America, they are frightened. But if we know that culture is not of things but of the heart, nothing can be taken from us, eh?

Indie! I am so grateful! Thank you ever so much. You are demonstrating the way and encouraging others. You are hope. Someone told me that the definition of “hope” is “trust in God”. That gives hope a much grander place, eh?

As another creatrix I’ve reinvented my surroundings many times and this new creation I’ve surrounded myself with feels so perfect for this moment that when friends come over they sink in and feel embraced and never want to leave. Sometimes I wish they would!!!

Usually I notice doing something a bit different with what I already have really makes me appreciate it like new again. I love our home, but it is easy to look at parts that seem dated, just a fresh coat of paint or arranging some art differently helps me fall in love with it again when things might seem boring or old.

Hello Maureen! Thank you for your comment.. it made me giggle a bit, for I couldn’t think of a time when I ever had time to look back at something I had worked on in the past but needs a facelift. I feel like I am forever still working to keep the rain out!
It sounded like such a luxury to be able to think of something out of date and needing to be done again. It sounded wonderfully fun!

It must be, -because it is the only thing that is truly going on. I love where the prophet prays, “Lord, open his eyes that he may see.” It opens mine too, just realizing that all I have to do is see it. It is true, already. It is only a challenge when I get tricked by the material sense of limitation for myself and for everyone else. I just need to keep the trust that I Can See the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth NOW

Victoria, your so right , we should be content with where we are now. It doesn't mean we have to stay there. I've been wanting to close in my porch ,but can't afford to do it

So meanwhile in these balmy end of summer nights go out and look up at the sky, to the fields, or someone riding. Y on their bake to buy eggs for to make a cake, or simply to be still, have fun refining you imagination for your porch but being so glad that, at least for tonight, you may enjoy the wide open air, knowing that when it is right and in the right way, your porch will welcome you year round, and until then, you will be building the fullness of Spirit. I like thinking of you on your porch, Maureen!.

Howdy there Victoria. I have been looking for more of your videos. I think I have caught up with them all. The glass portrait is coming along nicely..🙂 I'm happy with it so far. Maybe 1/3 done so far. Loved your thoughts on decorating or not.. and I love vintage... Thanks for the video.

Hi Teresa, Thank you for your comment! And, Richard? Why he is right by my side. I think folks because MacKenzie-Childs was a business partnership between husband and wife, but I am doing RUclips more on my own, though of course I could not do it without him. He really helps the domestic work whilst I am working very hard at the work of You tube, and many other aspects of the work of everyday life. I’ll put a photo of him up on Instagram. I have one from the other day. It was good but he is with the sunset behind him … shucks! Also, he appears a bit and I think a bit more as we go, on Patreon. I hope you will want to take a look at Patreon. It is where my favorite videos go, It is the best of it all.
Oh! I just looked at Instagram and Thee are quite a few photos. 😃
      Fondly, Victoria
