Grian has a weird obsession with placing Mumbo in positions of power without him realizing. For instance, in Season 7, Grian made Mumbo a candidate in a mayoral race he started, and in Season 8 made Mumbo CEO of Boatem Inc. I'm expecting the same stuff for Season 9.
They were on the same side during the mycelium resistance, but only for a relatively short period of time. But yeah, during the civil war, hippies vs area 77, boatem vs goatem, etc they were enemies

What I was taught in history class was that the emperor also had the blessing of God, as well as the prestigious title which also meant he was a succesor of the Roman empire. So the emperor would be chosen by the pope and elected. In the roman empire, the title of Augustus had to be confirmed by the senate, but was more complicated. When the western empire fell the eastern remained. However Charlemagne was proclaimed emperor by the pope, basically succesor of the roman empire which would do many complicated things. But it would mean he was the succesor of the roman empire. The eastern empure still lived at that time being complicated. When Constantinople fell to the Ottomans in 1453 (I guess, could also be 1463 or another date in 1400) Moscow would be seen as the third Rome, the Russians used that title in czar, The HRE, holy roman empire, would persist and would fall under the habsburgs (Sorry, got distracted typing)

I always find it funny that people who complain about Ren being king, loved Scars time as mayor. But I guess Scar simps don’t care that Scar was also a authoritarian ruler who helped change the economy (Aqua Town) and helped improve the servers overall beauty (Shopping district cleanup) when Ren also helped the economy(Diamond Pit and Server Quests) and beauty (shopping centre roadwork scheme, community quests). I just think it’s strange to call Ren a terrible person and then talk about the amazing things Scar did, when they were both brilliant

My prediction is that there will be a war soon, but it won't be *against* the king, it'll be organized by the king. Eventually something will cause the participants of the Arch of Champions to start grouping into factions. Rendog will probably see this as an opportunity to pit the two sides against each other in the form of quests. Grian gets to have war and chaos, all while Rendog keeps everyone organized. Everyone is happy.
Out of everything that stuck out to me about this amazing recap of king Ren, 2:53 stuck out most to me. Joe with a Mumbo mustache is amazing and something I did not know I needed (now gotta just imagine him doing a Dracula- I mean, Mumbo impression-with that mustache on.

Scar is also not too happy about losing his diamonds to Ren, and he lives in the south, so I can see him joining Mumbo and DocM in rebellion, maybe even forming a seperate southern kingdom from the rest of hermitcraft season 9.
Coming back to Hermitcraft after a Hiatus on watching it, to see several creators went on Hermitcraft Hiatus, finding out Ren has gone mad with power..... yeah.
The message I am getting from this season of hermitcraft is that to solve the worldwide inflation and economic crisis we just need to make a ultimate ruler of the world.
If I had a diamond for every time Ren was appointed king of a server, prompting a massive rebellion partially instigated by Grian that eventually resulted in the collapse of the kingdom, I’d have two. Which isn’t much, but I’m starting to think he has a royalty complex…
