Wow, pretty sure Troy just gave me "the talk"! All kidding aside, thank you for an incredibly informative video. I've wanted to put together worm breeder bins and I feel much better prepared to do so now. Sure appreciate you guys!

Texas here! I got red wigglers for my birthday in September. Today they had past their prime bananas. Excited to learn more.

    Excellent presentation Troy.
Funnily enough when you were describing how the cocoons hatch.. I was thinking of that ‘paper towel’ lady…
Things are happening at ‘Wormpocalypse’ with new cocoons appearing in my newest bin.. conceived before I transplanted the worms therein. I need to separate my cocoons into a smaller tote. The best bedding establishing a new tote? Maybe some of the substrate of where those cocoons came from?
Get the ‘consistency’ reasoning behind using worm chow. It makes sense as you are less likely to get things wrong acidity wise and anerobic Wise …? Might be wrong.
    Thanks again..

I've heard the rule of thumb of 100 worms per gallon to maximize breeding (from Captain Matt's channel)

I separate wettish, almost finished castings from my bins with a quarter inch screen. Will contain castings, bedding and small worms and cocoons. Looks like coarse castings. Is this a good medium to keep wet and hatch cocoons and bait the small worms?? To eventually let dry out and sift through 1/8” screen. At this point I’m only feeding in a bait cup. It’s been a week. First try where I haven’t just used in the garden but rather am thinking it’ll be a “hatchery”.

Correct......it's a base material that needs other organic matter to be attractive for worms.
