GM biggest problem is GM Wall St. thinking Management. Holden gone, Opel gone (EU design studio) dropping lead in EV, Saturn gone and other models. Largest World Wide Vehicle Market - and GM continues to shrink market share year after year. Wall Street happy?
Michael Simcoe is correct to focus on the PRODUCT design - not making ICE vs Electric LOOK different as a concern.

As a middle aged man I find that the automakers are destroying the sedan little by little with each new generation. Lower rooflines and lower seating positions make it very difficult for many to easily enter and exit the vehicle. Sure, they are sleeker, sexier but loose their usability. I love sedans but will have to give in and shop CUV next time around.

I see automakers going to independent subcontractors for design.

Customer can't know what they want when it isn't available - BATTERY ELECTRICS and the reason for TESLA.
Look how poorly BOLT has done - design?? or the VOLT?? too little too late? or poor dealer performance?? or too small distribution??

Yeah they kind of went overkill with the Hummer EV. They basically built a factory customer monster truck.

That's because of Safety & Emissions based Aero that ICE cars have to adhere to. Performance BEVs are going bring back Exquisite Design due to more freedom from emissions and packaging. They only limitation is Battery Size & Low Aero Drag. Soo many stunning PHEV & BEV design in recent years.
