I don't think it's specifically stated but I've read somewhere that was the reason for a separate platform. The different modes seem kind of neat. I know in FX they offer different challenges and such but a mode where you specifically play Multi Ball is a welcome addition. Perhaps 5 tables isn't enough right now. If you have been following Zen and Pinball FX, They have many more tables coming next week (Dec 7th). A Star Trek-themed 3 pack. Legacy tables Excalibur and Epic Quest. Snoopy Xmas Pinball. (Enjoyed the Peanuts table in FX) and another 3 pack that is based on Board Games, which I find very interesting. I play Board Games a lot and to have a pinball based on some of them I find intriguing. I know most want tables based on real-life ones (I'm one as well) Anything new, is welcomed.
This is an excellent review. So far I've only purchased Duke Nukem and I like it more than I thought. It's awesome. I'll purchase the rest soon but I'm happy on Duke Nukem for now.
Good review! I've been waiting for a Duke Nukem table like this since playing Balls of Steel back in the day. The M in this game is for Mature and not horror so I would expect the theme to expand to other genres later.
Thank you! I kinda thought about that after the fact and the M for mature makes sense lol. Though it is mostly horror themed so I could see the confusion.
Do y'all really not understand why this was a separate package? Changing the age rating on an existing title is a nightmare. You gotta implement content filters to appease the pearl clutchers.
Us Pinaholics have been wanting some more adult themed tables for years, but consoles especially were very strict on age restrictions, so Zen have finally been able to deliver by separating the game to its own individual title, therfore the M for mature. Very fair review but sadly as I'm a very seasoned Zen Pinball player, I've found numerous bugs mainly on The Thing table upto now and unfortunately from recent experience they have not been fixing bugs but seem intent on just pumping out new tables.
Pinball M is Mature which means it has an adult status. Pinball FX is rated as Teen. They will lose their license if they had added those tables to pinball FX.
Got to play Chucky and the Thing so far (working so just on lunch break). They are freaking awesome! Can't wait till this comes out on Switch next month so I can put it on my pinball machine.
ok.. Paid 20.00 for 5 tables... Yeah, I know one was technically free, but I thought for all the variety, it was a pretty good value. I also have Pinball FX and a lot of the tables, but these tables are very nice... Dead by Daylight and Chucky are my favorites, but I do like the Duke Nukem one as well.,.. There was a game called Balls of Steel some time ago that was also had a Duke table, but this one really takes it to a new level... I am curious what tables will be added later... I watched an interview with the Devs... They wanted to add some Mature themed tables to Pinball FX, but the ratings would have affected that platform, so they just created this title. It appears they have been quite busy as several more tables are coming before the end of the year... I have not seen what's coming for the mature game, but it should be fun... I am enjoying this game so far... it does feel SIMILAR to Pinball FX, but different and stands on its own as well... Great video, by the way... well done.
Great Video well done you! You just got another subscriber! . I paid my money within minutes for the full version of it when available on EPIC. I have spent hours trying to let me play more than the DEMO!!
On other platforms people have the choice between the 2 physics, it's just that on Switch it will be FX3 physics only. The new FX physics is way better by the way, it allows you to have much greater ball control. You can't Live Catch or Post Pass with the FX3 physics for exemple.
@@hyperboreen4854 The new physics is better, I know. It just that it runs terribly on the Switch though with constant frame drops and muddy visuals. So unless it's improved for the next update, the FX3 physics for the Switch is far superior.
Fantastic in depth review! I get that they wanted to have them separate due to age rating (Even though South Park is on FX3??), At least if you're playing on modern day consoles you can have both games running at the same time and switch between them fairly quickly I guess
Hmmmmmmmmm the idea is absolute brilliant and something really new and funny, but the franchise decisions are a bit akward and strange. Duke Nukem, Dead by Daylight etc - instead they should focus on the big movie horror franchises like Freddy Krueger, Aliens, Stephen King iconic creatures. And why is there no Alien Pinball until now? Alien is the hottest most-wanted Pinball table ;) Best make one Alien Pinball for the regular Pinball FX, and a more hard and creepy Alien Pinball design for the M-rated tables.
Is Pinball M a seperate pinball video game from PinballFX? Are all these five pinball table themes added to the PinballFX library or are they on their own seperate game; Pinball M?
Do u think Zen pinball (which ever platform) would be way cooler if u could play against people live and speak with opponents, and actually watch tbeir game on your screen - like an online hotsest mode, instead of just playing against a submitted score - where you dont have the human interaction. Pinball would then become a lot more addictive and fun because of the social aspect. What do u think?
@@IDreamofIndie this whole time, I’ve been playing classic mode which is brutal. I just switched to arcade mode with the power ups and I finally killled chucky. I used the passive power up that extends the “saved ball”. The “shoot again” sign at bottom of table flashes a lot longer.
Because you don't get it. Pinball takes you in the FUN ZONE/FLOW STATE, like any good arcade game. You have missions to accomplish, objectives, and with some practice you start to gain more and more control over the ball. It's very rewarding to tame the chaos and get big high scores.
The reason why Pinball M is separate is because it would raise the age restriction on pinball fx. It's something they want to avoid.
That was kind of my thinking as well, that's a shame!

I had that feeling. I assumed the "M" in Pinball M stood for mature.
@@WaveGazerExactly.
Wouldn't mind a silent hill table in the future. Loving the thing and chucky tables.
Good call that would be awesome!
Absolutely
This is an excellent review. So far I've only purchased Duke Nukem and I like it more than I thought. It's awesome. I'll purchase the rest soon but I'm happy on Duke Nukem for now.
The Duke table is really fun. I was thrown off when it entered the fps mode lol

Yup makes sense!
I do know they just released a new pinball machine game called System Shock (Remake) which i really liked next to Chucky's Killer Pinball

They are both excellent I just need to get better at The Thing 😂
@@IDreamofIndie same here! I kept getting to the defibrillator part but haven't been able to crack it yet. Great video!
Freddy krueger and Saw theme would be awesome
Agreed!
If they add a Freddy Krueger pinball table I hope it’s based on the movie A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors
whoa,
1. I was just playing dead by daylight earlier today
2. Love duke Nukem
3. Awesome review
4. The algorithm works

M for mature ...........they talked about it before. You never hear them curse in pinball FX.
Resident evil table would be so cool
Yup!
Does the table have the voices of Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly?
Best part about the Switch games is that their going back to the old FX3 physics!
Nice!!

This game is named M for Mature and that is the reason it is a separate entity. Parents can lock rated M games.. this game has mature subject matter.
It makes sense, though like someone else said it would be nice to be able to import your pinball fx tables
Is Pinball M a seperate pinball video game from PinballFX? Are all these five pinball table themes added to the PinballFX library or are they on their own seperate game; Pinball M?
Best pinball game ❤
Blood, language , violence etc if say…which opens the door for for some tastey stuff 👍😂 art the clown would be amazing
Thanks for watching!
Silent hill tables 🙏🙏🙏🙏

What's name of the dude with hood that explains how to play 🤔 does anyone know?
Killer Klowns table be sweet also.
Thank you for sharing a comment!
This is absolute fire yo. 😮
I get they make it seperate for Mature content but it would be nice if i could import the other tables in to Pinball M
I agree!

I'm not sure I would really be into that to be honest, I kinda have to stay focused during pinball lol.
I love the chucky but it is so damn hard to beat 1 film scene, Let alone 3 and a bonus one in one game just to kill chucky. Without power ups btw..
It is very challenging!

I would buy a Resident Evil table. It could take place in either the Spencer Mansion, Raccoon City, or the Village from 4.
