If this ad aired today, like the original “race car” ad with its lyric change, I was thinking of this concept: *_But the satellite chose a different bite_* *_A treat, he knows, is something that’s a taste delight_*
This is way better than the red car and blue car advert. This one suits the name of the chocolate bar, and it's just more awesome, cosmic and exciting. People just say the car one is better because they saw it first. If they would've seen this one first they would say the exact opposite. Unfortunately, it didn't do as well as the car one but I like this one more.
The reason this one didn't work as well is because the song is far less catchy and a bit more "out there". The Blue and Red car advert is simpler and has a warmer and nostlagic feel to it.
Back when MilkyWay had a brown centre similar to that of Mars bar (without the caramel) before they changed it to white. My first memories of MilkyWay were of the chocolate brown coloured centre.
What a fab ad :) Its great to see it in HD, its abit easier to hear the words and the graphics look cool. They should re release this one aswell as the Red car v Blue car one although it would perhaps be harder top edit it to fit with todays advertisiong lol
@jifkitchen The satellite and meteor had a race Meteor just loved to fill his face Oh he ate galactic diners And lots of ursa minors He'd even crunch his way through saturn rings But the satellite chose a different bite A treat that wouldn't ruin his appetite The light and fluffy chocolate milky way Watch out the twin planets are bossa nova (look out) But our hero carries on up and over Smart ol' blue he chose the milky way
In the Lunar Lunch World, Satellite and Meteor decide to take part in the annual Space Race. Throughout the race, Meteor began consuming everything in his path and stuffed himself with galactic diners, Ursa miners, and Saturn’s rings. As the race continued, Satellite was able to catch up to Meteor by finding the Milky Way chocolate bar, and consumes it. This allows Satellite to move faster and close towards Meteor. Near the finish line, the twin planets of Boss and Nova inevitably collide. Satellite crosses through, while the twins nearly crush Meteor.
Until RUclips, I only ever saw this advert once at the cinema. The "Red car vs. Blue Car" one however, I saw on television a lot back in the day, so this was kind of strange at the time, I think. I would have been like "Wait... there's another version?"

To be fair, seeing one first doesn't always mean you'll like it better (though it does tend to happen) - I have preferred things I saw later to things I saw first at times. I am more familiar with the car one though, so it is sometimes what you are more familiar with. It does make more sense with the name of the chocolate bar though.
I agree. I like the way the twin planets of Boss and Nova crash because they're doing a kind of bossanova move. It's smarter, but less obvious than "Oh no the bridge has gone!".
Advertising agency to Mars corporates “ so we have this jingle that will stick in people’s heads for the rest of their lives......what do you guys think” .....
Man the nostalgia this ad was so catchy I remembered it 9yrs later people who grew up in that time period would say it’s better than the red car blue car ad
Modern lyrics (if aired in 2010 or 2011) The satellite and meteor had a race Meteor just loved to fill his face Oh, he ate galactic diners And lots of Ursa miners He'd even crunch his way through Saturn's rings But the satellite chose a different bite A treat that he knows that it tastes just right The light and fluffy chocolate Milky Way Watch out! The twin planets of Boss and Nova! But our hero carries on up and over! Good ol' Blue, he chose the Milky Way. (Lighten up and Play!)
Dude, the concept of a Satellite and a Meteor racing through the vast reaches of space is just plain awesome.

I just like how the meteor warned "Look out!" at 0:32

Now this should be the official Milky Way ad.. It's perfect.
what are the twin planets boss and nova

The "Ursa miners" joke is severely underappreciated!!

I saw it once, too, and no one else remembers it haha
Makes you wonder, if THIS had been the original advert, would it now be as iconic as the car version?
The advert reminds me of the red and blue car advert.
to be fair.. milkyways are delicious!!!
Yeah yummy.
The Satellite & Meteor from Milky Way based on Herbie (Disney) and Batmobile (Warner Bros.)
Are you blind?

Never saw this one before-slight improvement on the red car and the blue car although the satellite looks a bit too much like Cadbury Smash robot.
Classic advert.
Satellite looks like a robot from blue sky's robots
Omg soooooooooo funny omg I love this advert so catchy the song is
This is like the one with the Cars.
LOL. The meteor just can't win.
Advertising agency to Mars corporates “ so we have this jingle that will stick in people’s heads for the rest of their lives......what do you guys think” .....
plus it's more subtile to the name. i mean, think about it. a satellite racing a meteor and he finds the 'milky way'.
surely eating the wrapper is unhealthy
Makes me wonder what if both the cars and this commercial where remastered today?
Why isn't this and the red car and blue car aired in America?!
Rotten Raspberry Because the ads are British, like me
The satellite was 3D in 1991?
Go Saturn go you can do it buddy
I forgot all abut this
0:10 Poor little green aliens.
The ursa miners, lol!
@@yvy6269 Good thing they were miners from Uranus.
I prefer red car vs blue car
I like this one because it's clever and imaginative.
Same.
I think this one is better becuase it fits with the name of the product.
1990-1995 commercial only

No way
Nah that’s a crock of shit 😂 you’ll never beat the two cars
@@oo0024 I grew up through the mid 2000s when did you grow up?
They don’t make ‘em like this anymore.

Why didn’t the meteor just go over or under the twin planets?
I remember this advert being played in the cinema
before Thelma and Louise started, in 1991.
Contains the Spider Episode:
Spider in the Bath
bot
Why is the satellite waiting for the meteor?
This one didn't do as well as the car one
Not as catchy as the red car versus blue car though

Cartoon logic
The cars better
Nah, I think this one is better because it suits the name of the chocolate bar unlike the car one.
@@siennagalloway8235 yea but The car one has a better flow
