    In my opinion this the greatest song to come out of Trinidad . May not be the most popular but it’s the best.

    I remember when I was around 6 years old when this would play on TTT. As a child, I honestly thought he was singing about poverty... hearing it again and again as I got older, it speaks volumes that we're in the same situation or maybe worse 2 decades later!

    This song speaks a very serious message that is becoming more relevant as time passes. The kind of corruption violence and crime we see today is astounding compared to the days this song was made. That said, I really love this song.

    It’s 1:54 am April 21, 2024.
    As a born Trinbagonian living in Canada I can confirm this song is still relevant not only in our twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago but in the rest of the world at large and respect to David Rudder. He really prophesied with this song.

    Up to this day this song will always keep in our head because everything what this man said is all coming to reality I wasn't even born yet when this song come out and as a youth I always use to like this song even till today so I think all youths of T&T need to listen this song and I believe when they listen they will know how life is and I believe that crime will stop to a point when they listen to it ✌✌✌

    How could people dislike this song. The very first time I heard this I loved it. As I listen to it so many years later it's almost as though he is still talking about the now.

    Jan 31st 2015..... Just finished looking at David Rudder perform LIVE at the Legends of Spectacular.. Very Powerful VERY Moving performance of "Chant of a Madman!! Still as pertinent today as it was back then.. He modified a few verses and even talked about our falling Oil Prices.. He moved me.. Raised all of my pores!! I tip my hat!!!

    My favorite song but When he said "big big men dying the crime can't solve" he was talking bout Selwin Richardson and blame panday...20 years later and all I can say is play it again Sam! CuZ crime went 10 fold in this country

    bess song!!!! ever since i heard it; i was a child when this came out and i still love it to this day!!!!
