- We chainsawed up a wind blown sycamore tree on the edge of a farmers field and filled the trailer full of logs with a telehandler. We got a friend into saw up the tree trunk with his very long may be a four foot long chain bar on his Stihl chainsaw. Transported the logs to our yard with tractor and grain trailer. Split the logs with a tractor mounted log splitter and put them in a wheeled 1tonne high tip dumper to go and put the logs in a cage trailer and in the log shed, We even put some logs in dumpy bags, we ended up selling 20 dumpy bags for £70 a dumpy bag to one person who came and picked them up and I burned about 10 dumpy bags myself. Its a lot of work and I will not be doing it again. The blown down tree was part of a wood/forest that had been hit by 90 mile an hour winds from the north the name of that storm was Storm Arwen... "One of the most powerful and damaging storms in the UK this decade, Storm Arwen arrived in November 2021 and caused a red alert for winds. Thousands of mature trees were felled, causing the deaths of three people in Cumbria, Aberdeenshire and Northern Ireland." ref BBC
