At almost $6K I would look at a TopDon Phoenix Pro or Phoenix Plus and Micsig SATO1004. The TopDon runs the launch software plus 2 years of free updates. At less than $2500 for both I think most Technicians will find it a better deal. If you need a full J2534 programming interface then pick up a Cardaq Plus 3 for about $1750.

Where are you getting your information from? If you know what you are doing,, and are willing to work, you can make over 100k per year and not have to kill yourself in the process. The McDonalds down the street from where I work is paying over $15 per hour for regular employees, not managers. If you are ambitious and have a good attitude, an entry level tech can negotiate to get flat rate pay (15-20/hr). "Lube tech minwage" If you're stupid enough to work for minimum wage, you deserve it.
Tried launch tools you have to pay for every feature you use and per car would love to see what the mall sells…… usually like 200 per function per year… blah blah blah super expensive tools
What do you recommend? I have a small shop, one lift, my son would like to make money at something but we have no diagnostic equipment other than an old code reader.

Please we need more throttle 3 coverage. I've been using my throttle 3 for a year and I feel like I learn something new about it every time I plug it up. I have the HD software as well and I can say it's more than adequate. shoot! it even works on some offroad equipment, my only experience was with a cat skid loader and it did its job.
