Ok so let me clarify, I can understand waiting for the offseason, but wouldn’t you rather get something of value in return for one of your expiring contracts rather than just letting them expire? The other thing and the main reason why I titled it what I did, why even say you think this group can make a run when they haven’t shown any reason for you to come to that conclusion, at least not consistently. And while they have in fact been on a run, I’m not moved (yet). In their 5 recent wins, they’ve beaten the sixers with joel embiid barely being able to move, memphis, brooklyn, sixers without embiid on the floor, and indiana mid trade, and during that time you had a loss in which Steph scored 60, and a game in which he was the only player on the team to hit a 3. With all due respect that doesn’t move me, but things can change

I feel like I can't remember a season with more 1 point losses than this year, so I do feel like we've been competitive as a team. the biggest issue is/was defense but they just beat two quality teams on the road and were impressive defensively, so I think a turnaround is possible. going 21-12 over the last course of games would be enough for an upper play in spot

  • @ttmho96
    @ttmho96 4 месяца назад +13

Teams they've been beating arent really good but they've won convincingly instead of struggling like the beggining of the season. The young players are giving more effort and energy, taking the load off the vets. They might not make it far this year but there really isnt a player they can trade for that will make them automatic contenders again. Klay seems to have accepted his mortality and will hopefully play more freely going forward.

"this video encapsulates causuals and media glazzers"
-Warriors (GSW): have lost 19 games withing 5 points or less so far this season, and this is with being plagued with injuries, suspensions and Kerr's loyalty to vets line up. if u actually watch the games you will see that warriors have all the pieces needed for championship run and more.
-Don't just be a stat-goon or a mindless sheep and look at things inside out not outside in (like the media), hence its not surprising at all that the warriors did not make a trade having the top 3 bench in the nba and over the past 5 games draymond, wiggins and kuminga has the highest net rating.
-Aquiring two big "pieces" back better than any trade is Chris Paul (arguably the best assisting point gaurd in the league) and Garry Payton (1 of the best perimeter defender in the league).
TLDR: I'd be sorry for any team going up against the warriors in the playoffs 7-game series.

Idk if u understand the value the players u mentioned have as trade assets, plus the fact dunleavy probably doesn’t have as much connection, not to mention we have gotten fleeced in every trade outside the dlo trade (we should’ve asked for jarret Allen in the first place tho anyway). This team has been insane defensively w kuminga Wiggins dray and good offensively. Steph was right about the def of insanity but kuminga being unleashed is a change, klay being less selfish, and him playing Lester and gui who I have pushed for and have been awesome. He still isn’t playing tjd for whatever reason which is weird but he has been giving moody minutes too. TJD thing still bother me and so does the cp3 thing but w gp2 this defense is scary. Kerr kept playing the same guys which is what I believe steph was referring to. Not some block buster trade, that’s not the only definition of change.

I'd like to see GP2 get more assistant coaching stuff to be honest and using him better during injury playing him a little less. He has a lot of knowledge and a really good eye. to be hoenst I thought they brought him back to the warriors because of that but it seems like they aren't using him like that.

I dont think they had any moves to make. It wasn’t a lot of options out there and the team chemistry is getting better. Why would they ruin it now. Trading Klay is the worse idea from a franchise standpoint and championship standpoint. Things would fall apart, warriors fans love Klay and he brings an energy to the team. We’re fine. Trust the process..

  • @frankpeelen4867
    @frankpeelen4867 4 месяца назад

I think you need to look at this season in two sections. Before reformed Draymond and after reformed Draymond. You can even split it into pre-Deki passing and post-Deki passing. There is a 1 game difference between these two, but the team had a full week break to process and reset emotionally, so I prefer to use the latter.
That first half of the season was terrible, and going off of that I 100% agree with your takes. The 2nd half (after Dray return / after Deki passing) is still a very small sample size and against mostly weak teams as you say, but it is VERY promising. GSW is #3 in net rating and the Steph/Wiggs/JK/Dray + BP/Klay lineups are 2 of the 3 best 5-man lineups with at least 36 minutes played.
Furthermore, this group has only had ~10 games to build chemistry and incorporate JK as a 2nd option on offense. Defenses are also starting to adjust to JK now, so JK has to learn how to adjust to those adjustments. So they still have a lot of room for improvement and growth through the remaining 33 games + perhaps post-season run.
Post-season success is not very likely, but I think the main reasons for standing pat is to evaluate how this group grows together before making big changes. The off season is simply a better timing, because they'll have a better idea of what needs to happen.
I think they'll likely decide to have Klay come off the bench and get a center who can defend and space the floor (if available, maybe Lauri). Or they may decide to break up the Wiggs-JK-Dray frontcourt trio and replace one (most likely Wiggs) with a center. But exactly what changes need to be made are better evaluated in the off season, once this group has had more playing time together.

If they trade for a multi year contract they're not gonna have cap space to resign Kuminga without touching the second apron, which will basically lock them out of doing anything else.

I appreciate the clarification that you're a fan not an expert, but basic common sense is important.
I understand why a fan may not value a 37 y/o's $30 million expiring contract's contribution. But if you trade him for $30 million of players that will not catapult you into contention, you're just extending your mediocrity years... that's 2 roster spots maybe where you can't insert a player that will make the difference for you. That's 30 million less spending money to pay a true difference maker, less money to give Kuminga his impending pay raise.
If you let his $30 million contract walk at the end of the season, you add all of the luxury/repeater tax to the savings. If klay takes 23 million, the Dubs are either below the tax or definitely out of tier 2 luxury tax territory. They may even get back their MLE next year... oh, and the team just went 4-1 this road trip.

They won't admit it but I'm sure they recognise that the core of the team is no longer good enough to seriously contend year in and year out. There were no significant trade available that would have made them a serious contender all of a sudden either. Every single semi big name out there JK was the main piece demanded back in return and quite rightly the team isn't going to trade him for anything less than an ALL Star level talent or better.
They are going to have to shed salary and a lot of it, sooner rather than later. They absolutely do not want to be over the 2nd apron for this roster. CP will come off the books in the off season when they most likely waive him. Klay will be re-signed if at all on a much smaller deal (somewhere around $15-20 Mil I would guess).
The team has been playing better of late and JK is effectively their 2nd option but I have little faith that Kerr isn't going to go right back to trying to close games with 3 and 4 guard line ups when CP and GP2 are healthy again.

Saying they've been "flat out bad" is just wrong. They've lost a ton of games by less than 10 points and many by just 1. Especially when you're trying to compare them to last year's team being "competitive" when that team only won 11 road games. Yes, Klay has been a shell of himself, and it's clear that he's finally facing his age to injury limits, but the guy who is needed to play to his potential has always been Wiggins. And while it's only been a few games, putting him on the trading block seems to have woken him up. Kerr appears to be giving minutes to their youth now, so let's see how they gel. They're already mathematically tied for 10th with a huge test coming up against Phoenix, Jazz, Clippers, and Lakers.

Chris Paul is one of their better defenders. Calling him a "liability on defense" is just a lazy NBA Twitter take

Ok, so you thought they should have done something. What then?
You can't criticize without offering solutions. What should they have done? What are your proposed trades? You claim "there were a lot of deals" that could have been made to improve the team. Name one. Because that contradicts all rumors and reports. Dunleavy nailed this trade deadline. If you look, even briefly, at the trade market in conjunction with the Warrior's assets you see... nothing. This tells me you didn't do your basic research.
You spent 11 minutes complaining about all these moves they apparently could have made yet failed to mention even a single one. Where are you getting your info?

Should’ve given more examples, Xavier Tillman was traded for 2 second rounders, Jaden Springer was traded for 1 second rounder, Daniel Gafford was traded for Richaun Holmes, the Bojan trade was a joke, yes we probably weren’t involved in any of those talks but that’s kinda what I’m talking about, and yes, they tried to get andre drummond which would’ve been great, but chicago unfortunately still thinks they’re a contender, but I feel like I explain my thought process better in the pinned comment so feel free to read that if you want

6:55 I do feel you're being overly critical.
I feel this one missed the mark.
They've been in a GREAT flow lately, they've adapted (as in changed the way they're doing things) from Steph/Klay offense to a Steph/JK offense (basically), their defense really got A LOT BETTER, so yeah, it's not insanity no more, they tweaked it here and there and, most importantly EVERYONE is playing better, more cohesive basketball. 😊
The return of CP 3 and GP II is also basically a 'internal trade' that'll happen very soon. 😊
Don't count this team out! Feel like they are/could be going on a great run!! 🥳🥳😆🙏

Moody & Loon Dog for Gafford.
Our POA defense with Kuminga, Wiggs and GP2 with Gafford as a rim protector would have been nice.

Warriors…. or are you delusional? There was nothing out there at the trade deadline that would make them contenders. Anyone who thinks there is, is delusional. Best bet is the players we have improve and Wiggins continues playing well next to kuminga. Likely? No. But likely you can find a contention trade? No lol. Not sure the point of this video besides you ranting without putting any thought to what they should have done. Aka… nothing they could do to contend besides improve. Fans in the Bay Area are entitled and think every year should be contention for a title or it’s a failure.

Stop wasting your time on these BS posts bruh…they make the playoffs. Probably second round. Winning ANY championship, in any sport is HARD. And ps…only one team gets to do it in every sport, each year.🤷🏻‍♂️

There was nobody worth getting that would have made a difference this season to make us a contender. That player wasn't out there. Even at the start before anyone was traded. Pretty obvious what happened - pretty sure every team that had discussions with the Dubs, if any, would have absolutely required JK. Who cares about making the playoffs. If it doesn't make us a legit contender, why do it? It makes so much more sense to ride the season out.
