It wasn’t till she looked it up on her phone that she finally conceded I was right. Her older brother said you should also just look up how many songs he’s written for other famous singers, and you’ll be blown away! A couple years ago I went to a Willie concert at the Woodlands, north of Houston. I arrived a little late and could hear Willie already singing as we walked toward the seating and got settled. I looked on the stage and said, "I hear him but don't see him." Then I noticed Lucas was the singer I was hearing. I was amazed.
Right. Willie always was an original and an outlier. I've never been to a 'country music' event, but I'd go with this fellow. I was hoping he'd be coming to some of the festivals I go to, but not this summer. Crossover, like his dad. I go to roots music events.
