I have an Xbox one s and it looks a ton better than this, I am interested to see if playing on official, dedicated or local will change the performance. Keep up the good work :)
If I had to assume, playing on official would (most likely) hinder performance due to how much would have to be tracked by the server and your console. Ours is a non-dedicated server and typically playing on single player or local gives the best performance. I do know going on dedicated I rubber band better than any slingshot ever could lol.
@@amberheard2869 yes, and is it worth it? I may be biased but I love this game so yes, in my opinion. Although just keep in mind if you want to play on official you need to invest a lot of time into it to progress. We only play on our own server or hosting one another.
Xentricityy88 it straight up hit me like a freight train how much difference there is. Furthermore it's one of the few games that's such a marginal difference as well
I know this is 3 years old but I have an Xbox one x and I played ark on it 24/7 I thought it was the most amazing game and still do. But I went to my uncles house and he asked if I wanted to play ark on his one s. I was like sure why not but as soon as I got on I got sort of a motion sickness from the graphics. I never knew how different each console was. I was thinking about a one s but that changed my mind. I don't want to play a console that makes me feel sick when playing my favorite game. So it's one x for me and I need a replacement since the hdmi port is slightly broken I get this weird green static and it makes my TV speakers crackle. It was a great console for the years I had it
Electro Coffe I figured as much, it might hit 60 on segments where you're completely alone, but those are incredibly rare and as such i dont think they shouldn't be counted towards the average
If anyone would like any more comparisons between games on the Xbox One S vs. the Xbox One X, please, reply to this comment so that I can see it and we can see if there's any difference between the two! I'm more than happy to give demonstrations between your favorite games, if I have them, to see what they might look like!
Really good comparison! thank you! But i have a question. It looks like the v-sync option was disabled in all tests, this creates screen tearing and stuttering effect, did you tried the high fps mode with v-sync? if the game reaches 60fps (as they promised) everything should move smoothly, if not, it will just stutter anyway... so, did you tried this mode? :) and thanks for your time!
GordoFriman actually you have to turn v sync off to get the higher framerate option and unfortunately it didn't reach 60 fps. Maybe it could in chunks of map with less dinos but the majority of the game is going to be around more so I didn't count that
Thanks for the test, i was thinking on Xbox one x as a secondary and/or vacation ark machine... it looks like its not what i was looking for. Thanks a lot!
Ark is such a poorly optimised game with the worst screen tearing ive ever seen in a game, even on the X its bad, which is a real shame as its one of my favourite games, wish they would invest into the engine and get it running better, its not like its even voxel based, ive just played Farcry 5 and its like night and day compared to Ark with how smooth it runs
@@wolfe1970 Late reply but ark is constantly rendering and changing amd spawning shit, even in singleplayer. Farcry you download the whole game and its all already there for you, big difference
@@SteakAndMusic You are wrong, Even farcry spawns stuff in as you move through the map, and Ark does spawn the whole map, thats why i can see the whole map, yes it spawns in dinos when you get to a certain distance, but then so does Farcry, and every other game, No excuse for the poor optimisation and engine of Ark
Keith Deel I didn't adjust anything on either system. I mean the one s still looks like this even with extinction. Even then you can't adjust the sharpness in settings.
Trust me. Getting the xbox one x for it is worth it. I play in a mega tribe and it doesn't kick me out like the orginal xbox does and the frames are much better
Its really dependant on whats going on on screen more than anything. You can increase framerate by adjusting settings a bit and if possible lowering resolution, but what will really murder your frames is how much you have built and how many tames you have. Smaller buildings will load faster and spreading out your dinos can help but the more thats cluttered together the worse your frames will be. On our most recent build that I posted a while ago on crystal isles the base itself is pretty but it loads in incredibly slowly now that we have several dinos around.
@@WaylayBrigade I play abberation with my brother we have 3 decent sized dinos, roll rat and 2 megalosaurus. Also 3 small tames. We barely started on the map 4 days ago so our base is super small.
