I used another version of the 71 carb from a saw and had to drill a hole through the carb body itself to get pulse seems really responsive , although haven’t given it to it yet only on 3 rd tank 45 cc twin ring
@ yea I been having starting issues from using a drill And it’s been on hold I have a pullstart now so might be able to keep the flywheel nut on , if remember I was just starting the 3 rd tank so yea I’ll stretch the legs and let her cool fully
Is blowdown decreased with a thinner base gasket ? What about a thicker base gasket leaving TDC just below the top of the barrel. Port timing calculator's are easy to use without physically using a timing wheel . Squish , ignition and compression won't help if your timing's are way out. It's a compromise always so which one are you going to give up that works. That's my experience , you sound like you have much more than me though .
@@johncoscia5258 I have built 1000's of 2 stroke engines. Port and case reed mainly. IF you have a Port , you can install a gasket to lower the jug making sure the top of the piston will not hit anything. Take piston to the bottom and mark where exchange ports are and then ramp the piston there. Take piston to its highest point and mark the skirt where it interferes with intake and exhaust, You can clean up and smooth the ports as well. Simple things to do to provide a lot more power. Make sure to to plug chops often to check jetting as to prevent melt down. These are very basic functions to increasing power on a port valve 2 stroke. Enjoy the ride.
Maybe you could help me? Have a very nice setup from Taylor 46gt with big ore pipe and all that running great now with a wj 126 if I’m correct the high is at 3/4 and I get abit worried but it’s were he’s at is best do your rec on? Thanks
You will at the limit at 3/4 turn on the H needle. In other words, do not go less. So if it is still running rich at 3/4, your carby wt 146 metre rod is too high, and it will have to be adjusted. I made a video showing how to check the metre rod and the pop off pressure wt carby. I had this problem on a Warbro 28mm carby where I had no control of the H needle and always running rich. Once I adjusted the metre rod, the problem was solved.
@@robertblunden7160thanks at 3/4 he’s running great , start bratling when cold, then clear’s out when it’s warm, I guess there’s no reason to be worried about ! Many thanks
Good stuff 💥💥👍💯

It's ready for full throttle if you are on a 3 tank

Clean up exchange ports. Use thinner base and head gaskets, ramp and skirt piston. Hang on.
And make sure the clutch shoes holder does not slip, which is the biggest problem I have.
@@robertblunden7160 If you have enough travel, shim the springs.
She is perfect in the handling department .

Show the gears when running 👍
I will do that, plus I will show the mph, which will be about 65mph
👍

All the Taylor motors run that way. Let the motor warm up first and then run it.👍
