- Simple and quick fire pit from a washing machine drum. It burns quite effective due to the great air supply. I made this one for thew 5 day outdoor camp in Holland next week, to prepare my food on. In most of these type of videos, the door is cut out completely then hinges are added. When I make these, I cut only one side, then apply the hinge, then finish cutting the rest of the door. It saves time with alignment. Glad to see you think the same way brother! Love the technique and am now a subscriber. Nothing like taking throwaways and making something useful!!!

Yes, it's a good tool, but I want to add it is a very dangerous tool. I cut my finger down to the bone and my neighbor across the street, cut into the knuckle on the back of his hand. When you are grinding grip the grinder very tight so the grinder does not slip especially if you are grinding above your head. Be sure the grinder has a shield.

Great idea, before I start building one, or buy one of them, I would like to suggest a further improvement: You could add something for allowing the adjustment of the height of the grill roast or any other feature for enabling the heat regulation as heat regulation is required for excellent cooking.
All I do is throw the grill on it to warm water. If I want to grill on it I use hard wood like oak. It don't let the flames get to big. Adding some charcoal to keep the heat with out the flame also works great. One thing that I use it for is cooking with a Dutch oven. It fits perfectly into and acts as a wind break

Suresh Holla True, i wanted sideway access to refill te wood, so i would not need to lift the grill up, but in the end it burns so long and clean, refilling is not much needed.

Thank you, by now he is a very very old man, and does not move much anymore but he is still healthy so I'm lucky with that.
Ihad one similar to that one . i left the bolt in place. Iused a 3 foot of pipe for my stand. I also had mole scaring sound devices that you had to use a hole auger to install them. I would auger a hole 14 inches down than hammer the pipe about 4 more inches. Never had it tip over. On the 12th year of using it at state parks and it was stolen.

How does the metal hold up to the heat over time? I know the stainless won't rust but will it start to warp and collapse over time from the heat?

Got you as they look like factory made legs just perfect for the Washing machine tub as a BBQ Cooker. Are the legs stainless Steel? How was the price on the legs?
I am thinking about many possible uses for mine today I am disasembling my old expired Washing machine and using the Drum either for a Cooker/ Smoker or Washing Bin ( Large Colander) for Fruits Vegetables great for a gardener or as a Holding tank for Sea/ Aquafood.

Adon Lando Good idea, but so far after almost 1.5 year it didn’t burn through yet, and it’s 24/7 outside. Those old washing machines where made of proper stuff.

Leuk gemaakt! Handig en makkelijk zelf te doen. Ik begrijp alleen het deurtje niet zo goed. Je kunt de blokken er toch ook bovenin gooien?
Dank je. Het deurtje is een beetje overkill maar was bedoeld om hout er in te doen ala het rooster er op ligt met eten er op, dus dat je er jiet alles weer af hoeft te halen.
